I can't get over how beautiful the English countryside is, so green and the sheep grazing. Both of you have a great sense of humor regardless of the rain. It still amazes me how the canal locks work and how pretty the brick bridges are.

Lovely to see you again. I remember one time we made the same journey and as we came around the right bending corner towards the road bridge 85, the wind was blowing so hard off the field to the right. There were loads of boats moored on the left and we had to give the engine loads of power whilst also using the bow thruster just to keep ourselves from being blown onto the moored boats. It was pretty stressful (when you consider how stress free narrow boating normally is). Looks like the breezes weren’t too strong, just chilly maybe. Look forward to your next video. Hi Alex, it’s a nightmare if the wind catches the boat, we do generally stay moored up when it’s really windy, but these last few months it’s been every day! So we choose the least windy days lol 😂 Thanks Alex xx

Great vlog thankyou, playing catch up at the mo with the vlogs at mo. We moor at Brinklow if u remember so it was lovely to see places we recognise! One of our fave moorings is opposite the farm (back of Onley prison you wouldn't know was there! We didn't until we had a walk through the gate and by Dunchurch Pools ). Xx

Thanks for another great vlog, Regarding the old mechanism at Hillmorton Locks. The locks were designed to act as mutual side ponds, with a paddle between the locks enabling water to be transferred from one chamber to that adjacent, thereby saving water. Although no longer operational the winding gear can still be seen between the locks today. One flight of locks was used for ascending craft and the other for those descending thus one lock served as the side pond for the other. Although the saving could never be more than half a lock of water, as when the locks were half full they would balance out.

I'm moored near Bugbrook at the moment, my latest favourite spot....& oh to see the sun can life get any better??!! Hopefully see you at Crick. Regards Mike.

Lovely cruise except for that rain and cold. Even late April can give you that. Here it seems like there is one last chilly spell in May. Those garden moorings are really nice. Of course, having your own house with a garden mooring would be even better. That would be the best of both worlds. ❤

Hey guys, I watch One Day More's channel too and, if you feel up to it next time you see them, yell "GO HOGS!" and I'd bet you'll get a very surprised look then a good laugh. I live in Arkansas which is next to Texas and there has always been a big college football (American football...lol) rivalry between the two states. There's a saying that goes "Who's your favorite team? The Arkansas Razorbacks and whoever is playing Texas". I've talked (commented) with them about their time in the states and we've had a laugh.

Hi Howard, thank you for your comment, much appreciated! We try to avoid scratches and scrapes as best as possible, but sometimes can’t be helped, in which case, Martin deals with them as soon as we next moor up. He uses G3 products and there is one for scratch removal and we always have touch-up paint and Martin rubs down any scraped areas below the gunnels and applies Fertan (rust inhibitor) and then paints them in as soon as possible. Above the gunnels, there may be the odd spot, but mostly, Martin just sprays water, or if there’s dew, or it’s been raining, then just leathers the boat down. Martin only polishes the boat twice a year, the rest of the time it’s just a leather and water. Thanks Howard! xx

Doesn't the CRT have any powers to remove sunken boats from the canals?? Whose responsibility is it if not the CRT and what rules/laws are there to fine an owner if they just leave the sunken boat? Another lovely vlog 👏👏 despite the inevitable rain! Take care and stay safe. ❤

Hi Jill, I think the owners are ultimately responsible for the boat, so even if they don’t get it raised and CRT were to do it, they would get the bill. Not sure why this one has been left there for so long 🤷‍♀️ Thank you for your lovely comment! xx

Hi Eric, the North Oxford is a stunning canal for scenery, we love it! We are hoping to go up onto the Macclesfield and Peak Forest canals later this year and they are stunning, we can’t wait! Yes, those garden moorings are permanent, you pay a yearly fee and it’s yours I believe, one coaster has apparently been there for 28 years! Definitely cherry on the cake lol 👍 Thanks Eric! xx

@@rocka-cb7kk You don’t need to take a test or anything, but you can take an RYA course, which I believe is done over a day or two. Or, you might. D better to just hire a narrowboat and they give you a 15 minute tuition before you take the boat out for a week or two. We haven’t taken any lessons. Thanks Derek! xx
