Hi guys, just found your vlog and really enjoyed it. We did the Oxford about 3 months ago and it is beautiful. We've lived on our narrowboat for just over 2 years now and absolutely love it. If we could offer two bits of advice, they would be: 1) Make sure you get a full survey done before buying, if you go for a used boat. 2) If you want to do the whole network then you would be better off getting something no longer than 58ft. I'm so pleased that you have figured out what it is that you want to do in retirement, congratulations and i hope your dreams come to fruition. My Wife's plans are to retire to our apartment in Egypt but not so sure about that one just yet.

Great video, Wendy and Laurence! When I was doing research into van living, I remember coming across some narrowboat videos, and really wanting to try them out (but I'd need someone who sort of knew what they were doing).

Really you don't. 😅 I got mine 5 years ago after spending precisely half an hour on a moored boat. At that point I was 55, cruising on own. Take your time and people are always offering to help.
