Narrow gauge steam train compilation! Maine Two Footers in New England

Ойын-сауық

In this video we see a compilation of two foot narrow gauge steam locomotives operating in Maine and Massachusetts. This includes Monson 3, Edaville 11, Bridgeton & Saco River 7, Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington 9, Boothbay Railway Village 6, as well as a brief look at SD Warren 2. The video is in no particular order so it jumps around from Edaville to WWF, Boothbay, Maine Narrow Gauge Portland, ME, and the Big E West Springfield, MA. Two turntables are also included in this video, both complete with live steam locomotives being turned on them!

Its great that so many 2 footers were saved and are running today. I once heard sometime ago that Edaville ran into hard times, and the guy that owned it had to sell about half of the property that he owned to pay bills, resulting in that the trains could no longer run as long and far as they use too. If this is really true, how much did they loose and what is now the total mileage that they can run on, and what are their plans for the future. Thank you.

What happened was, they shortened the loop at Edaville. It's about 3.5 miles, the main loop is a 20 minute train ride.and when you take it at the switch it's another 20 minutes more. They take the switch for special occasions. I was a former employee when all this happened

25:50 an old style pneumatic crossing gate those were a common site at various grade crossings in the 20th century in the golden age of railroading whether if they were automatic like this signal or if they were manual with a gateman

Just wondering if it's Bridgton and not Brighton? I know there's a Bridgton, Maine around the Saco River. Great video, and thanks.
