Well, Tolkien and Lewis were friends. They both had incredible imagination, but they sure had a different view of the world. Tolkien's world is black and white, painted in hard lines, more grown-up, more bitter, whereas Lewis used a lot of colors, and made it watery, like childhood.

I enjoyed this scene in the movie. It was refreshing to see a portrayal of Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus) in which he's not just a carelessly generous dork. He has nobility and genuine care -- he's fatherly and he stands for something He's not the guy you see in every cheesy commercial encouraging you to satisfy your selfish desires. Anybody with me on this?

This is probably the first time someone's managed to badassify "Merry Christmas," to infuse it with the true spirit of the day that saw our Lord God charge into the fleshly world on that mount of hay and humility, to die in glorious battle with sin, and to rise from death itself to proclaim the Good News to the world. The winter of sin is passing, and God's good summer approaches. Though it is a few weeks, or more aptly two thousand years, late, still I say: Merry Christmas, and God bless you!

This makes me remember Christmas 2010. The day before my grandma died on Christmas Eve. The next day we had a white Christmas I remember it making me cry because I knew that God has taken her into his hands and to a better place. I will never forget that moment..... <3

I'm so lucky ^^ I was in the Garden Ballet of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe back many years when I was a child, and I got to be one of Santa's toys when he brings Lucy, Susan and Peter their presents! I wasn't really anything special, a little wound up drummer bear... but looking back on it, not many people can say they're got to do that 8D Love Narnia. FOR ASLAN! <3

I feel left out of the snowy part of Narnia... I live in southern Texas, and so we almost NEVER get snow and when we do, it's for 10 minutes, it's not fully snow so it's acid slushie falling from the sky. So i could never experience this feeling unless i move up to Colorado or something... (sigh)

it finally started snowing today! ♥ I'll put the horses to the sleigh now, decorate it with Christmas tree balls and fir branches and drive through my winter-wonderland while listening to this music!! *-* Merry Christmas to everyone! :)))
