I think this piece is applicable to our times in dealing wit Covid19 in 2020. A call for compassion, a lament on the poor souls that will suffer... then the restlessness of being quarantined....then the work, work , work of all who are keeping us going, grocers, nursed and doctors...then the tedium ... then the prayer again... then.... Thank you Narek, you transported music beyond its borders to all our hearts and souls. And thank you Giovanni for downloading this from the spheres.

"But the little Armenians, France, Germany and Vatican call it a genocide." Sure ? - The Council of Europe recognized the Armenian Genocide on May 14, 2001 - On April 15, 2015, the European Parliament backed a motion that calls the massacre a century ago of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turkish forces a genocide - In 1997 the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) passed a resolution unanimously recognizing the Ottoman massacres of Armenians as genocide. - 45 states out of 50 of the United States, have recognized the events as a genocide. - The term genocide was coined in 1943 in response to Armenian Genocide, and to the mass murders in Nazi controlled Europe. - In 1985, the United Nations Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities received a report (The Whitaker Report), in which the Ottoman systematic massacre of Armenians during the World War I was cited as meeting the criteria for the UN definition of genocide and as one of the genocides of the 20th century. The report was received and noted by a resolution at the 38th session of the Sub-Commission in 1985.

You are an ordinary genocide denier without any argument. Armenian genocide is a historical fact, the only country which should recognize the genocide is Turkey and first of all it is important for Turkey for creating a healthy society. All the problems and among them the question of Kurds (which were also guilty in genocide of Anatolian Christians) are a huge affliction for modern Turkey. You have no other way besides accepting and repentance.

A genius piece. Another brilliant interpretation was by 16 year old Joe Pritchard at the 2016 BBC Young Musician competition (string final). Can't find it on KZread but currently available on BBC iPlayer. Worth catching if you can. How the judges in this competition saw fit to pass over this electrifying young player is only the most egregious of several bizarre verdicts. This was the best single performance in the entire competition and good as this KZread version is, I don't think the Pritchard version can be bettered. I'm sure Mr. Sollima must have been thrilled.
