I saw MCR when they were opening for Green Day in 2005 or so, whenever it was right before Helena broke big and I looked at my buddy and told him they were going to be huge. An opening band had never impressed me as much as they did.

I hadn't gotten into my chemical romance until I was privileged to meet Gerard and share a few awesome conversations as he was writing umbrella academy. I wsss😮impressed with his humble personality and intelligence. Needless to say, I dove right down that rabbit hole. He found it interesting that I didn't know him or his band, he respected that and thus opened up to me. I hope to cross paths again so I can let him know how amazing I think he is ❤.

I appreciate how they responded to the metal question. Obviously they like metal but they don't want to assign that label to themselves, for whatever reason (be it accuracy, avoiding backlash, etc.)

I was at this show in Van for the taste of chaos tour.. This is really nostalgic to watch. I was 13 at the time and it was only my 3rd show. I was smashed against the railing in the front of the pit the whole show but I was SO fucking happy.... I'll never forget it. I'm 28 now and I still love them.

Not a fan of MCR but it's always fun watching a band willing to engage with Nard's style of interviewing

You know, it's impressive how Nardwuar can dig up all this stuff, but also how he conducts the interview without any notes or anything, all from his head.

Im envious of how quick they answer questions. If i was in a band i’d never do interviews because i’d look slow. Even if someone were to ask me my name i’d take about a whole two seconds to answer lol

As much as I love nardwuar this wasnt his most impressive interview he usually digs way deeper and has gifts for them I was looking forward to him mindblowing my chemical romance like that.
