Jello has an insanely good memory, he sees a flier from a show he did 28 years ago and immediately remembers the exact night, extremely impressive.
Almost 3 hours of Jello?? Let's fucking go.

Funny, i was just rewatching the old Biafra interviews because of the youtube recomendations. The algorithm is coming for our collective uncool nieces.
I like how Nardwuar has been mispronouncing "Biafra" for over three decades and Jello never corrects him, at least not in the few interviews I've seen.

Phenomenal stuff. Nardwuar's so enthralled, entranced, electrified, especially when Jello reminisces about meeting the Ramones.
This has to be the best Nard interview ever and the most in depth Jello interview i'd love to look thru his Records
"The Riddler", performed by man of 1000 impersonations Frank Gorshin, written by Mel Torme, and on top of that.... produced by ""Dave Gates", the lead singer of mellow 70s rock group Bread...and you're just giving it over to Jello Biafra...who's wearing a shirt of...flying cats??? Awesome.

I freaking love Nardwuar and Jello interviews, It's like a music history lesson that doesn't suck
Nardwaur is awesome and him interviewing old friends is awesome to me.
Love that Ramones story. Jello did an homage to the Ramones with "kill the poor". Listen to "You're gonna kill that girl" by the Ramones, especially the closing 30 seconds or so... Jello has admitted that the similarity is intentional. Too funny that Johnny wrote him and told him to stop going on about politics, lol. As silly as that is, it's pretty cool that those two opposites were briefly "pen pals"...
@brandonhendrix7223
3 жыл бұрын
In a way I get why Johnny would say that. I'm not a huge fan of it myself. I like some political music but in many cases it gets to the point where the politics overshadow/overtake the music and it feels more like you're getting a political speech with monotonous music behind it. Also it veers into a condescending holier than thou/taking down to you vibe as well. Jello once wrote a very right on song called Where Do You Draw the Line? And it seems most, including ironically Jello himself, fall into the trap talked about in that song.
@LetsGoMetsGo33

@@brandonhendrix7223 I hear you. By "too funny", I wasn't necessarily voicing support for a political stance, but rather pointing out that telling Jello he shouldn't talk about politics is like telling Dee Dee not to write about being an outsider... It's nice that Johnny cared, but he was wasting his effort there! As mentioned, I don't necessarily endorse a high percentage of Jello's polemical screeds (though some of them), but I do think DK are one of the greatest punk bands, and I enjoy all their music. What helps, for me, is the satire and humor that Jello often employed, the fact that even if I very much disagree with a view, at least his words are interesting, and the great music that the band payed. By contrast, politics DOES get in the way of my enjoyment of, say, Crass, or MDC... mostly humourless ('specially in the former case), it's rather like the effect of a drunk guy at the barstool next to you yelling some rant at you. Very sincere, but not fun! I connect to punk because I'm fucked up; functionally fucked up, but I digress. I can relate to the music, whatever the lyrical sentiment, because I've got my own issues, and just connect with the alienation. My own stuff makes me want to hear music like this, and I'll set aside disagreement with the specific lyrics, for the most part.

I like how Jello was invited to the set of a Belushi movie but was too busy looking in record stores to go. A lot of people would be all giddy to be on a movie set but Jellos like "i'm record shopping" lol
Jello knows Nardwuar is into that nerdy punk rock facts that's thy they have this amazing synergy. Love them both.

I could just see him trying to annoy his dorm cranking out the Pistols and cutting his hippy hair to the opening power chords of Holidays In the Sun starting it off! Reminds me of my almost over zealous early times of Punk conversion. It hit me hard back in '77!
