Hi Bryce. Thanks for the video. Definitely a fan of Tanner, his family, and Sprint Car racing on the Left Coast. I left the Central California area in 1994. The Tulare track did not exist then. My home track to watch Sprint Cars was Hanford. What a beautiful facility there is now in Tulare.

What a battle. Traffic lessons. At the half way, it was interesting to see you and a dark car switching lines. Especially in 1&2. I counted like 12 cars passed from the back start. That's the hard charger for sure! Good job team 18T. Way to never give up.

Tough one from the spin. Just watching the footage though, track didn't have much to offer for grip. I think he was one of the better with forward bite off of the corners though, so long as he found his marks. If dove too deep into 1 then he suffered, when he was around 2-3 car widths off of the bottom coming into 1 then he seemed to have a good bite. On these types of tracks where the moisture goes away, the cars with the best overall setup, forward bite will generally make it to the front sooner. One always must figure in the attrition rate of any race by a minimum of 20%. Invariably, even the best can be gathered up in something as small as a slow leaking tire, someone else checking up, etc.. I watched continuously searching for better ground almost the entire race. I gave my thoughts once before on motor selection. I am not sure if they could have ran the 360 motor but, when the track is dry like this then that extra power will do nothing if it cannot make it to the ground. Gear selection is one thing, but generally the power curve between the two motor selections is enough that the 360 or a 292 could prove, with gearing, the more efficient choice. Tire inflation, lower torque, less ponies. Everyone gets caught up with the hipe of bigger/more is better, this is when thinking outside of the outside of that box come in. Experimenting with different scenarios can sometimes pay dividends. Here again, Tanner needs more track time with that horsepower difference and finding balance he can pull up from his notes for different track conditions along with the building wisdom if he wants to continue competing at the higher levels. Good job Tanner, another page entry. Even Sweet, Gravel, Kahne, etc. get humbled on these surfaces.

Tanner gained 4/5 spots after the spin,....after the next yellow, he was put back second to last...looks like the California mafia is real....that was BS !!!

Tanner spun out on the FIRST lap! That brought out the Caution Flag and means since he caused the caution, he goes to the rear of the field…

We moved from Visalia CA to Arkansas in 2017. Thunder Bowl at Tulare is one of the only things I miss back there. Saw some great races at both Hanford and Tulare. The Trophy Cup at Tulare is one of the best races in the country. Tanner keeps making mistakes. One step forward and two steps back. Spinning in turn one on the start - really?

Agreed! Tanner has 5 years of sprint car racing, on top of all the years of kart racing. Tanner isn’t doing so well. Don’t know if he’s not patient enough, has trouble reading the track, or just doesn’t have the knowledge to set the car up, but he seems to make a lot of “rookie” mistakes.
