We would like to introduce you to Naraijuku, a post town on Nakasendo, an old Japanese highway, as if you were time-traveling back 300 years to the Edo period (1603-1868).
The inn town begins right in front of Narai Station, about 3.5 hours from Shinjuku Station on the JR Chuo Honsen Line.
Thanks to the local people who have preserved the streets that have been in existence since the Edo period, we are able to enjoy this rare sight.
Walking along the streets, especially early in the morning or at night, you really feel as if you are in the inn town of 300 years ago.
