NAP5 Total Intravenous Anaesthesia TIVA

The 5th National Audit Project (NAP5) on Accidental Awareness under General Anaesthesia (AAGA) in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
This study is the culmination of almost four years’ work by a large number of multidisciplinary contributors, including specialist anaesthetic societies, psychologists, patients and medicolegal experts, and is endorsed by all four Chief Medical Officers of the UK. We welcome the expansion of a National Audit Project into Ireland for the first time, making this a truly international endeavour.
NAP5 was jointly funded by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) (www.aagbi.org).
The above is a presentation from the NAP5 Report launch held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London in September 2014.

MAC measurement is not accurate with LMA, MAC is not an indication of the depth of anaesthesia, (ONLY BISS )as gas may be leaking out or into the stomach
