    Can't wait for the final showdown. Junto Nakatani beats 3 other Japanese champions (including Naoya's brother Takuma) to become undisputed at Bantamweight. Years later he catches up to Inoue and they fight at featherweight for all the belts. Of course there's still 100 episodes before that battle.

    Inoue , thru out his career, have been hit harder, aka Donaire 1st fight...But to me this was more off Nery does punch hard and Inoue just caught off guard, and perhaps a bit off balance too...When Inoue was looking up from the canvas, you can tell he wasn't groggy nor in duress, nothing like that ...Donaire 1st fight was STILL Inoue's toughest imo..

  • @hotsingleplaguedoctorinarea

    @hotsingleplaguedoctorinarea

    12 күн бұрын

    @@pallen49 He got caught admiring his work, for him it was a flash knockdown with some sting to it, nothing to put him out but nothing to be careless about either. I think team Inoue from here on should have him focus further on his defensive responsibility (especially when he throws that right, and getting off the centerline and/or out of distance with responsible head movement and footwork. He already does this, but he also does occasionally forget it in exchanges) as well as his footwork with moving off angle backwards. He has a tendency to get caught up in his distance traps, where he ends up sliding straight back too often or launching into the ropes when blitzed at. No fighter is flawless ofcourse, this was still an excellent display of skill and hardwork by team Inoue, and Inoue handled that knockdown extremely well.

Kudos to him and his team, because they really had a plan, and for a short while, it worked. This is how boxing should be. Nery showed that if he keeps himself in shape, trains hard, and stays focused, he can be formidable. It's just too bad he was against a Monster.
