Poor Nanne. :'( She sends pure awesomeness in Melodifestivalen, yet she was ALWAYS robbed! This song would have guaranteed (in my opinion) a Swedish victory in ESC 2005!

I'm noticing something with Melodifestivalen... the public vote winner is always way better then what the juries choose if they disagree.

You don't say, in sweden many of us are tired if the jury because they have no sense in music taste. You might be an expert in music but your experties doesn't matter to what the public thinks of the song they hear. The jury just ruin the shit for our artists who deserved to win since the people of sweden voted mostly for the one they liked the most. But I guess the jury doesn't always wanna give a good show from sweden in eurovision :/

I remember listening to this while being young.I used to listen to this all the time.

She´s fantastic. This is the first song I listen to every day, when I come to work. It gives me a lot of energy and joy for the day and my work. I admire her so much, also for the personality she has. Wonderful woman.

+George Austin Tay most of her songs are just as good today as they were when they came out same as "Avundsjuk" that came out 1998 the beats are timeless well at least in my opinion and her voice is very unique at least compared to other Swedish singers

She was at the time (90's) the first true competitor to break away from the schlager genre in Melodifestivalen. Yes, her songs sounds very modern, even today.

The term you look for is timeless. Her songs feel just as contemporary now as when they were released. (Truth to be told, they did never feel super modern, they feel like last years summer jam but keeps on feeling like last summer forever.)

I adore her personality. Her singing is amazing and everyone on stage looks like they're having a blast.

Oh my god I love this woman! She's like the Tina Turner of Sweden! She has such a powerful voice, and enough energy to support a country.

A few years past, while I was in medical school in Minnesota, I discovered Nanne Gronvall and her powerful vocals through this song. Watched a bunch of KZread videos of her music. I introduced it to a friend and classmate, who is of Swedish/Danish descent, and he thought she was awesome too. One night, at another classmate's social gathering, I met some Swedish medical students who were visiting. Told them how much I liked Nanne and they laughed about it. Told me her music was like "country" (folk?) music. Lol. Still think she's awesome.

Her voice is absolutely awesome.

It's a DAMN SHAME that this force of nature didn't get to represent Sweden.

Blame the international jury... the swedish public want this.

This was the doomed year when we sent "Las vegas" I've never ever been so ashamed of watching eurovision for beeing swedish!! And we had Nanne! We could've sent her and gotten at LEAST a #3, but NO!! We sent the worst song EVER in Eurovision! WHY??!!

I have always loved this song by Nanne. Great singing, great choreography, great supporting musicians, catchy music. And boy, can pint-sized Nanne DANCE!! Fantastic! Much love from Australia.

She is one of the few singers around today that can write, sing well and in tune (not lip sync) and dance. I wish more of the people voting had liked her.

I love Nanne's voice. Not only is she powerful, but I love the fact she's not in a super high soprano range where most end up sounding like they squeak. There's some great talent in that woman.

I remember we could buy songs like this to our cellphones back then. Do you remember polytunes as phonesignals? A lot have changed since then. Now we can watch stuff like this on the Phone.

Hard to believe a voice that powerful can come out of such a little woman. ^_^ She's fantastic!

Fantastic song. I don´t understand a single word, but still, it´s great to listen to the melody and Nanne´s strong voice. Swedish music is the best!

I love the song too. In my opinion, it would fall into the genre that we lovingly refer to as the "Eurovision"-genre, which fits it nicely; it can be a mixture of rock, pop, any genre really, seeing as Eurovision has seen some ethnic performances as well. The singer, Nanne, is pretty much a legend in Sweden, she started out in her twenties, and for being over twice my own age, I take my hat off to her for her fantastic stage presence and competence as a live singer. ^^

and within 10 short minutes of discovering this song, it has become my favorite melodifestivalen song of all time

15 years later and still in my opinion one of the best songs ever from melodifestivalen. I still can't believe they didn't send this to the festival. What a song, what a performance. just SUPERB

Her 20th year as a music artist, 9th participation in the contest. And the experience shows. She *nails* it with 200% energy, sounding even better than the studio version, while also doing the choreography and the flairs perfectly. Kudos for that. And as a great bonus: that camera direction is amazingly slick.

Vi i teatern har faktiskt sjungit denna på tre av våra föreställningar! Första gången var år 2012 då vi gjorde en musikal som hette Musiktävlingen! Då var det jag som sjöng denna och mina teaterkompisar stod i bakgrunden och dansade och sjöng med i refrängerna! Andra gången var när vi gjorde en liten minipjäs som var speciellt för våran musiklärare som skulle sluta hos oss. Då gjorde vi dock om texten i verserna för att det skulle handla specifikt om honom. Men refrängerna var densamma! Tredje gången var när vi år 2018 gjorde en ny musikal som hette Sams teater! Då sjöng vi alla denna tillsammans som avslutningslåt och då höll vi alla om varandra! Var jätteroligt!

The song is so incredibly amazing but I love the choreography as well with the half- spin and the hand up in the air on beat. Delicious! And the ending with the fast camera angles. It is so tight, so well-performed, a masterpiece! Nanne is the queen in all our hearts!

Because one of the jury groups was located in the same town as the dude who won, and they gave ZERO points to this song. And also, back then the peoples vote was not proportional, so even though she won the peoples vote with a massive landslide, she only got a "12".

2021年听到了一首2005年的歌非常的喜欢。

Är typ den bästa sång jag nånsin hört! Kan säga också att jag har faktiskt själv sjungit denna sång en del gånger tillsammans med en teatergrupp i Nynäshamn som jag är med i! Vi har sjungit den på tre olika föreställningar! Första gången var på en musikal som vi satte upp på våren 2012 som hette Musiktävlingen! Då var det jag som sjöng denna och mina kamrater stod i bakgrunden! Sen var det på en lite minipjäs vi gjorde speciellt till våran musiklärare i teatern då han skulle sluta. Dock så gjorde vi om verserna då så att det skulle rikta sig till honom ordentligt, men refrängen var densamma! Och sen sjöng vi även denna på en ny musikal som hette Sams teater som vi gjorde på våren 2018. Då sjöng vi alla tillsammans och det skulle då handla om att alla vi som var med i teatern skulle föreställa skådespelare som först inte kom överens men vi lärde oss det efter att vi gick igenom en del saker. Och då spelade vi denna och vi höll om varandra för att visa att vi hade lärt oss att komma överens! Var riktigt roligt!

I love this song! First time I heard it was with a Princess Tutu fanvid. I am listening to this song October 4, 2011! Got both this video and the fanvid where I first heard this song favorited and saved to my playlist. If I still had my laptop, I would have this video downloaded to RealPlayer11 Gold and watch it every day!

I can not believe that I am JUST finding out this was a Melfest entry this was one of my absolute favourite Nanne songs and it could have graced the Eurovision stage????????

Detta lilla energiknippe som är helt fantastisk. Så glad hon också skall vara att hennes son Charlie gick till final i "Idol". Hon kan verkligen vara stolt som mamma över honom. En mycket fin artist och dessutom verkar han vara en sådan fin människa med stor empati. Så glad både för Nanne och Charlies skull.

I've listened to this song countless times (and loved it!), but I always assumed that the high notes (i.e. in the opening: [guitar] dun dun dun dun dun. dun dun dun dun dun - EEE!) were electric guitar. Seeing that that part is really sung is... impressive, to say the least. That it sounds like an electrically amplified instrument really accentuates the force of the singers' vocal power. I also always assumed that Nanne Grönvall was in her vocal prime when she sang this. She's a strong singer!

Wow. She sounds EXCELLENT live, which is a stark contrast to most American pop singers that don't have the balls to actually perform without lipsynching to a prerecorded track. You can tell she's really singing, because you can hear how out of breath she is toward the end. The fact she actually has the guts to do it -- and do it WELL I might add, she doesn't sound much different live than she does recorded -- makes her one of my new fav artists.

She actually won the televote, but the juries preferred Martin Stenmark's bland Las Vegas.
