I'm glad they have classic mode. I remember players that reviewed MID said they got motion sickness, and others a hard time navigating through the game. Playing classic mode first is how I want to play Mystery of the seven keys.

this is actually a bit small a number. Did you check Reddit and old walkthroughs?

Being able to choose between classic point and click and modern free roam modes are amazing. The characters look better than the last game too. Mentioning the two ghost cases right away was smart too. Acknowledgment of the older games. The coffee question at the start is much sneakier to me. You have to look at what is on the table. Glad Nancy caught it as I just guessed. 🤣 Edit: played a couple hours and watching Michael but I’ll have to finish tomorrow…work…adulting…ug 😂 the conversations are better than last game and Many more puzzles! I’m actually excited to replay the puzzles again. A little expensive, but fine by me as it is a well done game. Also it’s probably in his next video, but the second chance screen is back! Made my day.

Everyone talking about Nancy's voice but no one mentioning the fact they threw in models that just stand there BARELY moving? It makes the game feel frozen in time and the background flatter then the ground you walk on, nothing interesting to look at and makes you not want to explore outside at all

Completely agree with you. Someone also mentioned the lack of sounds in the background. Compare the sounds in Venice to hear and there’s a world of difference. The environment feels barren.

Honestly, this game is a step forward for sure- just not sure it's the right direction. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but just the whole vibe of the game throws me off a bit. The clunkiness, the voices, the puzzles are all agitating my senses. Even the music! I will always love Nancy Drew and support every game, but I'll always miss THE Nancy Drew too.

Wow, they actually released a new game. Huh. Only 5:55 in and I have to say...the voice acting is bad. I saw some people saying Nancy sounds like AI, and I have to agree. I mean, I'm pretty sure I've heard worse, but it's still bad, and some of the other characters sound wooden and robotic, too. Definitely not off to a good start. Although since the game is in Prague, I absolutely expect some defenestration to occur.

The modern view gave me a headache Sticking to the classic although the cursors are not well placed. This game also lacks classic Nancy Drew comforts....no glints of coins you can collect....buy snacks and eat them?

Even the graphic of Nancy Drew series for 20 years ago is much better than the latest version. I hope Interactive will focus releasing more games instead of spend so much time to upgrading (for me, is considered as downgrading) the pc game graphic. The characters are not realistic and look like the characters from The Sims. How sad!

Unfortunately I doubt that will ever happen. Idk what software was used to build the past games but this is newer tech despite looking like garbage. Also I’m pretty sure they fired a majority of the staff and now outsource a lot of the work. It just isn’t the same team anymore. It does look better than MID though so points for that

I agree the graphics are not good. I bought the game last night and I'm disappointed in it ☹️ also the NPCs are all the same. Just copy and pasted the same 5 over and over around the areas. It just doesn't seem finished to me. I know we can't go back to 2000 they have to update it... But this ain't it lol

I'm very late to the party BUT super excited for this playthrough!

I'm so glad classic controls are an option. Free roaming makes me so nauseous and gives me an instant headache all day. I feel like some games go that route to show off even though many ppl talk about not being able to play those games without motion sickness.

We need more!

Well, so far I think the game looks great! I will say that having to click the note with no indicator that it does anything in order to add a contact to your phone instead of simply adding the number yourself (dialing it, that is) or auto adding it when you see it to be an oversight, I do hope they fix that. The fact that you can actually scan the QR code to be cute though. I think the coffee minigame needs to be more forgiving in terms of the coffee art fill in (I think a single line through the template should be good enough instead of having to fill in every corner (97%)). The models look a bit uncanny, especially the eyebrow bones when they change expression creeps me out for some reason but for the most part, they look great in comparison to MiS. For me, oddly enough all the people around the place make me think I can talk to them when you clearly can't, which, come to think of it, is kinda realistic lol. Puzzles and characters look great so far, I like the coffee minigame (can we go back and do it again lol). Would be nice to have ice cubes with visible water in the water jug so you know it's cold water though because I do think it's reasonable to not realize that it's water in the jug. I do think it's funny how the person who calls Nancy over puts her through a test though, it's kinda cute and it does get you to actually read the letter you get in the beginning and pay attention to it, though there's no failure state, haha.

Just wondered ; ( Michael I love your videos ) but is it possible to turn down the music and turn UP the characters voice overs ?? Not a criticism but just wondered if this was at all possible .. 😊

This game is so annoying so far. I am using classic mode but it gives way too information and its just super clunky. It also took me forever to realize I have to click on Oskar's number to call him. I wasted an hour going back and forth on this annoying map. Sighhhh. Also I usually look forward to the music, but it's nothing special and it seems just like the ones for MID... The atmosphere of the texture is also really poor and feels so Minecrafty. I'm sorry, I needed somewhere to rant this early in the game lol

The npc movements are still very awkward

Kapler’s law is the law of planetary motion. Basically the discovery that the orbits are elliptical. This is how we eventually discover everything has a cycle and an orbit. The earth orbit changes from a near circular orbit to a near elliptical orbit. The tilt of the axel is also on a cycle. And the tilt of the planet is also on a cycle. Believe it or not one day Canada will be having Christmas in summertime although it will be December. Crazy, right?

Without Lani as Nancy Drew this is not a Nancy Drew game. This is just another mystery story. Not as bad as Salem but doesn’t even come close to the first 32 games. Gosh, how I would like to see another ND game with Lani talking and without this Unity engine 3d stuff.

The laptop part almost killed me

I really enjoyed these videos but (not to take away from that!) could you please adjust volume of your voice please? It seemed a bit too loud at certain moments, and it actually gave me a (one minute long) headache. I'm sure other subscribers will appreciate it too. I couldn't turn my volume down because then I wouldn't hear the game. I know it's difficult to fix such things but please try to do something about it. Maybe just keep your mic away from you

What I Usually do when it come to volume I have music at like 5 voice at 8 and master at 8 and others at 6 or 7 I lower music by a lot because it can overpower the other stuff

Okay. I was excited to play the new game, especially when I learned there's gonna be somewhat "open" world and enhanced graphics. I don't want for HER to just recreate old games bc of nostalgia, it's good that they're keeping up with game technology (revolutionary in ND games, but not in the game world). When I started playing, I was okay with face animation, with absence of background noises and no sign of life. But making coffee... I don't know who was responsible for this part, it's unplayable! In castle malloy you could see what and how much you need to add, with pictures! In Shadow at the water's edge there was a hack with hiragana - you could just draw some dots and it would be accepted! I'm making this f** coffee for 2 hours 😡 At least your walkthrough gives an idea how to pass this mini game...

Please notice the ad comes on about the game and I am surprised first that I can hear them and then I can read the dialog box. I watch your playthrough and it's no longer the case.

Love you... but i had to skip the coffee section because as a barista... it hurt me. Also, in your defenses, technically latte just means milk ans the whole term is cafe latte... but we shorten it.

@@laurendaley2503 Considering I've never paid more than $25 for a HER game (including preorders) the $7 increase on a game following such a colossal failure of Midnight in Salem seems not very smart. Especially considering the current state of the economy. But most of the games I've bought have been on average $19.99, so that's a $12 increase on the average game price. That's not worth it IMO, and I definitely can't justify it. HER is not worth that kind of money anymore. Even if it goes on sale, I doubt I'd get it for the simple fact I probably wont even know there is a sale since I no longer even bother to see what HER is up to anymore. So yeah sucks for HER but I don't see this game making much

I think it is worth it. Much better than the last game that is still over $20. Many characters, puzzles, history, places to explore. The conversations are decent. Accents aren’t great but that is pretty normal for these games.

It is actually insane to me how bad the graphics are for having been in development so long and then the joke of me having it on high settings and most details still looking blurry. My sis and I have played these games for many years and between this game and MID we just keep getting more and more disappointed.

And it’s not just the graphics. We experienced a bug at the very beginning where we had to start over because the first screen of the game we couldn’t move and it doesn’t seem like we were the only ones to experience it. The puzzles are frustrating with pieces of them being at separate points in the same room with no easy way to go back and forth or access the camera. No way to change key bindings. Janky controls to click through screens. Weird menus that make your phone somehow feel like less of a phone than prior games. Why can I take pics of stuff that I then can’t access while I’m doing a puzzle. At this point I wish another company would take over the rights to these games and do more justice to what they could be

Also, how is it Arglefumph’s fault that you CHOSE to watch his stream, in his personal and preferred playstyle, however slow or fast he chooses to run from place to place... how is it his fault that “you trusted him not to run like a maniac so YOU wouldn’t puke”? That isn’t his fault that you chose to watch a stream you found out you couldn’t stomach. This is a brand new game just released yesterday. What a rude overreaction to a streamer playing a game for the first time. If you wanna blame anyone, why not blame HER Interactive? I am a chronic migraine sufferer who can easily be triggered by visual cues to experience a migraine accompanied by aura, nausea and vomiting outside my control. Never once have I decided it’s some KZread streamers fault for playing a small company’s less-than-24-hours-released-game, much less blame them for the fact I chose to watch them, that I’m experience the migraine related nausea and vomiting symptoms. I hope you feel better... please do. Just stop taking it out on Arglefumph.
