Agreed. I instantly hit play when I saw Nana's name. I'll watch every time. ❤ Also, it's funny you all said that about Nichelle having that skill, making you feel seen. Nana has it too. Definitely.

When it comes to Whoopi, her good friend, Levar Burton called her and told her that he got a job on the new Star Trek and the time Next Generation was first announced. As a huge Star Trek fan she asked Levar to ask Gene if she could be on the show. So she was called in and Gene created the character of Guinan for her, most likely the last character he created before his death.

Auroras job was as a glorified phone operator. It was kind of sad, as far as I’m concerned. But she was beautiful and I loved/ lover her.

It's truth! If I hadn't have seen Nichelle working a computer, I would have wound up barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen! Instead, I wound up learning all about computers and now there isn't a computer I can't fix! Love and respect for her!

Enjoying the discussion around the serialization, although I would argue that it wasn't really done with Gates McFadden either. They put her fairly squarely in the mother/doctor box for most of the show. More was done to make Picard sexy than her.

Kira was one of the finest women in the history of Star Trek. Every time I see her on Deep State, I can’t believe how hot she is in that suit.

In the first couple of seasons the suit and her hair was incredibly hot and then she said she wanted her look severely feminising in the mid to late seasons and she never looked as majestic again. But yeah as a teen boy watch those first couple of seasons on VHS was very enjoyable

Nichelle is a beautiful lady, much admired. She looked fantastic in her uniform, but I would have liked the women's uniforms to be a bit more business like and not so skimpy.

If anything, I'd say the 90s/00s sexualisation of the women was worse than the 60s because it was pretending it wasn't there.

Plus back in the sixties society was still TRYING to accept women in any kind of leadership role. 'Wearing the pants' in the family was not tradition at the time, i think that may have influenced the females uniforms back then more so even than the sexualizing of it.
