I have been visiting Thailand flor more than 25 years and I got family there as well. I can surely say that, from all the videos around about Thailand, your channel is one of the very few depicting Thailand as it is -its past and present, culture, religion, society- without nonsense. Congratulations and thank you. Keep it up please.

Hi Pat: Great post. After what will be three years of the 'no fly' we have had plenty of time to plan our next visit, and we had chosen soi 10 a year ago due to its access to the park. We used to stay closer to Queen's Park and would walk there every morning, but Benjakitti provides a much bigger loop that we have taken advantage of for a couple of years. And my favourite 'gold guy' is right on the corner of Suk 10.

Thanks again BKK Pat for another fascinating insight to what makes Bangkok such a wonderful place to visit, it ain't all about the Gogo bars and getting girls... it's the vibrant steady flow of life and the great walks about town, once again thank you BKK Pat, hope to buy you a cup of coffee here in the near future :-)

@@BangkokPat I guess the tipping point was sitting in a taxi for an hour on my way back from MBK or my tailor to East Bangkok all the time. As you suggest, Nana isn't really me but you have to see it once. My Thai friend is an exec with a major hotel and I think she takes it personally when I don't stay there. They treat me like royalty when I arrive and it is difficult to resist. It's an art form to decline or say 'no' in Thai - worthy of a video in itself.

Soi 11 is a good place to stay. It has lots of places to eat and it's near the more busy parts of the area, but slightly removed. You can use the Nana BTS station to cross Sukhumvit Road which gives you clear access to Soi 8. There's an elevator just inside the walkway to the Q building that will take you back down to street level.

Suda's is a great place and deserves the publicity. She's been serving great food for a long time, and it's busy every evening, plus there are 3 big cats that prowl around too!

Wow great video. I finally have my passport on the way & the first place I want to go to is Thailand! I wasted so much time in the military & never got to travel. Well, now it's finally time! I've been dreaming about visiting the land of smiles for YEARS. I'm going to reference your videos when I go hopefully in October. My plan is to visit for maybe a month, explore the land, meet friendly locals, & LIVE LIFE. :)

Nice. Soho pizza on soi11 is fabulous. As someone who’s eaten perhaps a gazillion pizza in his life I consider myself an expert. Perfect ny style grease dripping off. If anyone needs a break from Thai food that’s it. Across sukhumvit from there the pho stalls are also great. Heading back next month now that the Covid hassle has passed.

You make Bangkok seem very interesting. My wife and I usually never spend more than a couple of days there before heading off to Isaan land . Never been to explore sukumvit rd in any detail looks like a lot to see thanks.
