My first and only beloved fighting.I hated mortal combat since childhood and hate even now.Yea dam because of gore.That thing made for crazy people.Soul.That what fighting need.Soul edge(blade) had it.Sad what soul calibur kinda lost that soul

I always like Hwang’s theme as well.

For me it was in a store, but i clearly remember the whole scene and everything that was around me at that moment, that's how memorable this was, it may leave a lesser mark now.

When people say modern Soul Calibur is too anime... I look back at this gem.

I remember being like 7 or 8 when i first heard this. Its still my workout/walking music. Im still trying to get to the edge of my soul, to carry on.

Now that you mention it, it really is the best. Most fighting games have pretty meh low-effort intros, especially in comparison to this masterpiece.

this, tekken 3 and thps were all I cared about around 99. even though games are better now I'd like to enjoy the days again of just playing those after school and on weekends for hours. Had no worries about the future or basically having too many responsibilities

Man, the nostalgia. Played this to death on ps1, except mine was called Soul Blade. I remember always trying to knock opponents into the water on Cervantes's stage so I could feel like I did a Mortal Kombat stage fatality lol.

It has been a lot of years since I don't listen to this song and watch the intro. I remember when I was like 3 or 4 years old and I played this game with Heishiro Mitsurugi, those memories... Listening to this song makes me to want to return to those years. Now I'm 17 years old, I almost graduate from the High School and this remembers me how many things I've been doing this years.
