I've been using a Konrad 6'8" 155lt for 2 years and have just got this new 5'1" 100lt compact. I love it. It was a huge shift in size for me and way easier to transition to than I expected. I am 75k so there is still plenty of buoyancy for me. It is an awesome board.

Couldn’t agree more about the traditional hover board, It’s very robust, stable board for sup foiling. My 125L is an absolute hoot in knee high to overhead surf, the foil box is spot on for multiple brand foils. Can’t see me changing for anything else yet.

Good review. I have the 85lt hover and now the 70lt compact. The 70lt is pretty tricky to get up and going on but when it’s up it’s epic. You have to get your weight in exactly the right place and then be pretty committed and quick pulling the wing up over your head and get up on your feet. Last time I used it the wind got a bit flukey and I had some great rides but also quite a lot of falling in and frustration that I wouldn’t of had on the 85lt hover. Its not easy but I think worth sticking it out! That’s my current feedback anyway 🤙

I laughed when I first saw the 70lt compact board. It’s so short! I think it will be worth the initial struggle and frustration to get this board dialled. It really is epic on the wave but a challenge to get up on in lumpy sea. Just practice and water time I hope. Appreciate your review. I’ve been looking online to see if anyone has posted any tips and advice. You are the only guys to have done it so far. Keep up the good work Supboarder 👍🤙

Great review. I have the s25 hover 85l and love it have not seen any other board I would prefer that’s why I have not changed. I am 75kgs and considering the compact 80l. 3 questions please: 1)will this be too similar to my 85l? Should I go 70l? 2)Does the compact have concave in the deck? I love the slight concave on the s25. 3) Do you feel too disconnected from the foil on the compact due to its thickness, I like how the hover is not too thick compared to a lot of these high volume short boards. Thank you

Hey guys, Good questions... Starting with your last question. This is something we didn't feel on the water or in the air. I think if you were really used to your current flight height you may notice a difference but we didn't seem to notice any difference when we were using it. If you are going to keep your 85L and want a smaller board I feel the 70L could be a great step down. And regarding the concave deck, I have just measured the decks of S26 and Compact and the Compact is flat opposed to the 7 mm of concave in the S26. This is a point I have completely overlooked in the review. I feel ashamed that I didn't pick up on this point. aaahhhhh. But thank you so much for writing these comments and making me aware of these points. Top comment great job thanks Reuben.

FYI. Upgraded from 95 L to 115 hover board and love it. I can get on the board without sinking, hence , Much easier to improve. 83 kilos rider + wet full 4/3 wetsuit + booties = 90 kilos. Maybe someone is thinking of upgrading the board

A most excellent review!! I have the 95 and have been enjoying it but feel like it is “big”. I’m 155 lbs ~ 70 kg and use low aspect foils (Slingshot infinity 99 and 76). I primarily ride in choppy bay conditions of 8-18 kts and wind swell up to 2 feet ~ 1 M. I have windsurfed for decades with my smallest board being 85 L. Really thinking of the Armstrong foil line but not sure what’s compatible with the Ultra 95. I typically ride strapless and my stance is weird with my back foot past center line of board a lot of times.

My goto foil is an Armstrong and I ride that with both the Naish's and they work well. Think if you are using your board for just winging you could definitely drop your volume at your weight. I wonder if you have a funny stance because of the foil you have at the moment? Thanks Reuben

Great review! Im looking at the traditional Hover as a possible beginner board for me either in 110L or 125L - which would you recommend? I’ve been out on a 150L windsurf board a few times to learn my wing, now ready to add a foil. I’m 77kg with some surfing and a little windsurf background. I’m also thinking about the starboard Wingboard but the hover looks a better shape somehow. Also, are Naish bringing out a new version of this soon as I see it’s reduced in price a lot of places. Hi Emily, thanks for your comment and question. Yes, the Hover is a nice first time foil board. 125l is probably the best place to start to really get the hang of things as it will be a much more stable platform to develop skills from. The starboard wing board is a great beginner board also, something like the 115l version, it has features like the concave deck that help a little but also its general outline shape and volume distribution will make it a little more stable than the Naish Hover but the Hover is a nicer shape to allow smooth touch downs and takeoffs ..... remember, everything has a trade off ;) I believe there is a lot of stock in Europe of these naish boards, so they will probably be on promotion for that reason. @SUPboardermag. Great review, Thank you very much . I am about to order a classic Naish hover ultra board, 95 liters 2021/2022 model. Do you know whether it is 100% compatible with F-one foils ( seven seas and Phantom) +F-One aluminium mast 85cm or do we have to adjust the rake ? Same question with the Armstrong foils, do you need to adjust the rake or not?

I'm quite surprised that Naish came up with this unpractical shape because the current development based on riders experience is narrower and longer boards with small volume with good glide speed for HA wings to get going. This wide and short shape most likely is going to be difficult to handle in choppy conditions and probably useful only with low to mid aspect foils so maybe it has it's market. Great review as always!

You give pricing, but no indication if that comes with fin. Price seems irrelevant if not a package price. Just interested novice

Hey Dennis, the boards are not supplied with fins because they are foil boards. And the foils cost about the same as the board. And many riders like to ride with different types of foil set ups. I hope that helps ,thanks Reuben
