The level of desertion of the villages is scary and since the man eater is operating in day time as well, it's dangerous to leave the doors of houses open and unattended and highly dangerous to walk in front of the open doors. It must have been horrifying to collect the remains of the victim in the state that it was in. Hope that a solution is found soon

Superlative effort to reach this remote village to find the facts of the poor lady killed by the Tiger. Vivekji instances like these have become common in Uttrakhand and there are dozens of villages who have locked the houses out of fear of the Tigers. The action of the Forest dept is too lacklustre. Feel for the people staying there in a dangerous situation. My prayers for the lost soul.

A very scary and difficult situation for the villagers. The desertion of villages by the native villagers and the negative side effect of conservation of the Tigers and Leopards are leading to this kind of a situation. The forest department and the government of India should look into it further and find ways to solve this man-animal conflict as early as possible. There should be enough patrolling by armed forest guards with the permission to shoot and kill the rogue animal if necessity arises. In India if you have a licensed gun you can shoot any intruder who is a threat to life without getting punished but can't do so for wild man eaters?!? Something really very contrasting and amusing too. Vivek ji please take care while roaming around these kinds of areas without being properly armed and protected. You just simply can't do anything to protect yourself in case of any sudden attack. Take care and thank you for the breathtaking story specially the part when you were walking alone searching for people from door to door.
