Welcome to our detailed breakdown on mastering the backhand return of serve, often considered a challenging aspect of squash. In this video, I'll be comparing my technique with a student's to demonstrate the key differences and improvements you can incorporate into your game.
🎥 Effective Rotation: Learn the right moment to rotate your body for an optimal shot.
👣 Footwork and Spacing: Understand the significance of foot placement and maintaining the correct distance from the ball.
👁️ Focus on the Side Wall: Discover why keeping your gaze on the side wall is essential for a straight and powerful return.
🔄 Controlled Rotation: Avoid over-rotating and keep your chest and shoulders aligned for consistent shots.
✋ Grip Check: A quick reminder to ensure your grip is contributing to a strong and controlled swing.
Practicing your return of serve can be tricky, but with the right partner and drills, you can make significant strides. Remember to maintain your energy, stay side-on, and execute the swing with precision. For personalized feedback, click the link above to get your free Swing Audit.

It is interesting when Gaultier hits the ball his head turns backwards behind the impact zone…it’s not a head fake….it is pretty consistent…thoughts?

Yea, I was just looking at the website. I want a stringray! And I am from Canada where we have the Squash Cannon. But the size of stringray and being battery powered is so much better.
