@@steffyjustin5108you need to use either a smear free top coat that usually sold my stamping companies or a thick gel top coat to prevent smearing.

Now the line makes more sense then globs of polish thats wasted. Glad you use alcohol instead of acetone. Thank you. I have the gel too..

Why not use acetone? Everything I've read recommends acetone for cleaning the plates.

@toastyxboops I'm not saying that isn't possible, but acetone isn't corrosive on most metals. Plus the companies that MAKE these tell you to clean them with acetone. I know they're always out for profit, but I don't see them telling customers to intentionally damage their products.

Acetone won't eat away the plate . Acetone is often used because most people use normal fast drying nail polish ( non gel) so alcohol doesn't clean those from stamping plates. You need acetone. But gel can be taken off by alcohol​@@toastyxboops

Omg got into stamping YEARS ago but haven’t used in forever because the polish never worked quite right. No idea there was stamping gel now!!!

If I don't have the flat scrapper thing could I just use an old card or something?

I had no idea I'm supposed to remove the blue plastic lmao I feel like such a dodo 😂😂😂😂 I've been trying it with the plastic still on the plate OMG 🙄😂😂

I'll have to try the gel. I have about 20 plates and it never works. I kept trying different polish but not 1 stamp ever worked.

Thank you for using the gel! I have the stamping polish and those things are expensive! Unless on sale. 😂 but the gel, Aliexpress, and temu great prices on everything. I just watched this morning the girl used acetone on on her plate. I didn’t think you should use alcohol on the plate…confused now… she said she followed maniology to the letter on what to do. 🤔😞

Alcohol is fine for uncured gel. Acetone is likely needed for non-gel polishes. Their ingredients are different

Exactly what the other comment said. Maniology sells regular stamping polish that air dries and you use acetone to clean off the polish on the plate. This video she’s using a gel stamping polish that requires a lamp to cure it. But you can use alcohol to clean up the uncured gel left on the stamping plate.

Yes. Using gel polish isn't necessary for stamping but be aware that regular nail polish dries FAST so be ready to pick up the design as quickly as you can. I use regular polish for my stamping.

Ahhhhhh!!! So it has to be gel. Not just a nail polish. I ordered a white nail polish for snow flakes but it won't transfer to the stamp!! Which is why I came to you tube!!!

Try a gel top coat to seal your design and cure it in a lamp. The consistency of a thick no wipe gel top coat helps dipping any smearing.

You can do it with nails on, its just a bit more difficult. Use liquid nail tape around the nail to prevent polish on the skin.

How to remove the nailpolish from the stamper??

not the clear ones. You need to check your seller and find out if you need to clean it with alcohol before use. My stamper instructions said to do that before first use. After I wiped it, works fine at picking up the pattern.

It dries to fast. Gel polish doesn't have enough pigments and will not show well. Get stamping gel.

Sounds like your using gel polish. Stamping gel is what you use as it has more pigment.

Check instructions for your stamper. You may have to contact the company that sold it to you to find out what they recommend. Some have you sand it, some have you wipe it with alcohol first and some say to use lint roller on it before use.
