NAIDEX 2022 VLOG! MY CHRONIC ILLNESS SEMINAR, REUNITED WITH FRIENDS, AND FRETTING OVER EVERYTHING
Come along with me to Naidex, Europe's biggest disability convention! This was my first time back at the event since 2019 and the most people I'd been around at once in years... and as you'll see from the vlog, I'm still finding my feet with what does and doesn't feel comfortable for me and ended up doing a lot of fretting about it all. However, I managed to enjoy the day, experience the exhibits, catch up with friends, and lead my seminar on moving from education into employment with a chronic illness. Definitely not my favourite vlog ever, but I hope you enjoy!

My name is Pippa Stacey and I’m a disabled writer, presenter, and communications consultant based in York. I enjoy theatre, books, and fundraising, and can most often be found wearing some form of pyjamas and drinking all the tea.
I acquired my chronic illness as a young adult and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. However, I’ve finally learned that I don’t have to ‘overcome’ or ‘defy’ my illness in order to be successful, and there’s truly nobody’s path to follow but your own.

Your talk was the reason I found out about Naidex and the reason I went. It inspired me to increase my efforts for disability awareness. I know talks can be a bit nerve wracking, but you were fine, believe me. I even got recognised by one of my social media fans (I didn't know I actually had any), so all in all, I was glad I went there and finally met you. P.S. my train home was also late and the lift didn't work at the station. I also missed the bus. Sending (socially distanced) Spoonie Hugs and Love ( ( ( x 😊 x ) ) ) 💜

Aw Pippa you absolutely smashed this despite the anxiety you are amazing! 👏 Seeing you live your life makes me think that maybe one day I will beable to find a job alongside my M.E. It would be great if you could maybe one day explain how you ended up with the career you have like where to start or how you made the connections ect. Take care, Kristina xxx

Wow, what an amazing experience, Pippa! Back in my "before" life, before I got sick, I attended a lot of conferences and trade shows and gave lots of presentations, but I haven't ever attended one for chronic illness or disability - it would be amazing to connect with other in person!
