The landlocked mountainous region of Nagorno-Karabakh is the subject of an unresolved dispute between Azerbaijan, in which it lies, and its ethnic Armenian majority, backed by neighboring Armenia.
We have seen continuous conflicts and turmoil in the region and all peace negotiations have so far failed to produce a permanent peace agreement. Will the newest peace deal agreed upon by both sides finally end the war? We will take a look at the history behind this tense situation, the consequences of Russian interference and that we can expect in the future.
