Message for the teenagers and adults from the interview of the victims is that to stay away from such friends who insist "You" to take drugs. Boldly say "No". Saying a No onetime, will be a Big Yes to your whole life. Choose your company wisely.

My uncle being a victim of substance abuser and seeing him died from drugs scared the hell out of me and sworn never to fall for it even though I had few friends who indulge in those thing. It is indeed really sad to see so many fellow nagas fall for it knowingly or unknowingly. Lastly, kudos to those organization who are working earnestly to get their lives back, God bless!!!

The drug epidemic in nagaland and I mean the entirety of Nagaland with of course the border areas being the worst affected is seriously underrated, undocumented and unabated by the government and society as a whole because of the stigma drug abuse is associated with and more than often it is kept under the rugs even by the families of those having addicts . It is true that drug abuse and addiction has been on the rise since the onset of the covid pandemic and subsequent lockdown that followed with the most readily available being the sunflower drug now , which in my opinion is the go to drug for the druggies of Nagaland for the moment . It is comparatively cheap , easily accessible and transportable partly because of the government's lackadaisical attitude towards drug influx into our state ,insurgency and also our state unfortunately being in proximity to the Golden Traingle having had to share an international border with Myanmar and the drug of choice can be taken orally or injected but is extremely addictive because its high is truly euphoric and the dopamine in our brain the drug artificially or medicially i should say releases is something else, but so also with excruciating physical pain and mental stress that follows upon withdrawal from drug usage which i must say one cannot even fully sympathize with ,only empathize with when you yourself have gone through it which can lasts upto days, weeks and even months depending on the severity of the drug usage . The point I'm trying to get across as a former addict myself is that Government's serious wholehearted humanitarian intervention is the need of the hour and they should also make sure that they have the various NGOs and CSOs on board with them if they really want to do something meaningful and positive about this epidemic , of course checking and stopping the influx of drugs into our state is a must but more than that the authorities and the people trying to do something about the drug issue in nagaland or any other state need to realise that this drug addiction,menace is a sickness ,a disease and what do you normally do to help and try heal a sick person? The first thing YOU DONT DO is forcefully take away their medication , violently beat them up and fine them thousands of rupees and shame and shun them and their families too like they were even responsible for their kin's addiction in most cases to begin with and then after this whole fiasco you expect them to be alright a day or two after like you've given the addict and their family just exactly what they needed , more physical ,financial and mental stress but what you normally and humanely do to any sick person thats in need of urgent care and healing is , you take them carefully and properly to a place of healing and caring and comfort , you support them not just medically and physically but morally, emotionally and spiritually and the last thing you don't do is stigmatized them , traumatize their already traumatized brains and souls and tell them to nonchalantly GIVE IT UP like you've even been through addiction yourself and it was a cakewalk out of it and that my friends is how you deal and heal an addict, by understanding them and being there for them cause it's really lonely and dark in their heads I'm telling you .

The mained problems is regular supply . What the guy had mentioned is absolutely right. Tizit users find it right in Namtola Assam. For mon many smuggled it from Dimapur. Special checking must be done by police in the inter check points. 🙏

The main problem is, not only the public but the Police itself involves in that very substance abuse, I am not against it but we recruit/appoint a substance abuse youth in the Police force. Then who will check whom.😰😰😭

Not only in mon but even in Tuensang there are so many youths especially teenagers taking drugs...one boy aged around 13-14 yrs, he told dat after consuming the tablet, he sleeps peacefully till the evening, feels so sad...even a kid of around 10 yrs are taking without knowing anythinh

hello i am from manipur, here too the condition is bad,in the corona year 3 youths have been lost from my village and many are still addicts very sad thing

Cant agree more here in MON majority of the youth destroy themselves by consuming sun even my uncle died cause of overdose .I feel like the higher authority should take some strict actions against the dealer .

I have seen many Naga people at rehabilitation centre at jalukie,haningkula, under the name operation salvation run by the nscn IM ,i think the konyak citizen should take their loved one and give it to the NSCN IM REHAB

Higher authority to take action against drugs dealer, n every check point

Our greedy & corrupt Govt. clearly knows about the drug addiction case getting higher & deeper in Tizit & Naginimora town under Mon district. But, knowingly still nothing has ever been set up in this 2 towns till today, like the rehab centers, counseling or therapy facilities, etc, to control the increasing rate of drug abuse... We all know it's not easy to control the drug flow in these 2 Assam bordering towns. But, if the Govt. & their legislators are determined to work it out then, they've all the tools & mechines they need to cut down the addiction rate.... And, if drug use rate comes down, PEACE, JOY & HOPE will automatically return....

Early it was Opium.. Now Sun flower. Control the ILP Act lead by strong Local leaders. All Mon Student Union Leader have a challenging tasks. GOOD LUCK BROTHERS.
