Nafplio is a very beautiful city in the Peloponnese and is a must for anyone visiting mainland Greece.
Nafplio was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.
It is an amazing mix of beaches and city and has the distinct feel of a Greek Island despite being easily accessible by car and only a couple of hours from Athens by car or trian.
All films produced on this channel are shot at a normal walking pace so not only give potential visitors a good time frame for how long things may take but also give an intimate look at the areas filmed without promotion. Just walking in Athens and allowing you to see what I see.

I really love it. It feels just like an island but it's mainland so much easier and probably cheaper to get to, not too long of a journey from Athens

Thank you very much, yeah I really like it there, is has the classic feel of a Greek island but with the benefits of the mainland (cheaper food, fuel etc and easier to access)
we were four times in nafplio. Thank you for the wonderful recording... my heart bleeds with longing.

It is amazing and so relaxing, also famous for Gelato so great for those with a sweet tooth too. Whenever anyone tells me they are coming to Athens I always recommend trying to get to Nafplio if possible, it feels like an island but it is easy to access.
NAFPLIO: BIOGRAPHY OF A GREEK TOWN by Matt Stanley is a fantastic book telling the story of Nafplio through its fascinating history. It also has a guided walk and information about the castles, squares, famous buildings etc

Yes, it truly has had a fascinating history, whenever I mention Naflpio to anyone in Greece the first thing I am told is about it's status as the first Capital. Everyone is very proud of that.
Whats the cost of living everything included for one bedroom apartment or bungalow

As with most cities it totally depends where you are looking. Anything from 400 euros to 1200 for a one bedroom Athens or Pireaus. Anything less than that and there will be a compromise somewhere. Food prices have almost doubled since the Ukraine invasion too
