The 'old guy' who called himself 'Old Dad', was Bill Schultz from KJCS-FM. A genuinely friendly guy. The guy who wrote/sings this one worked at a station across the street, and was also a very nice guy. Had the honor to work with both of 'em. Great guys. In 1977-1979, I was also working at KEEE/KJCS-FM.

Ah, this takes me back! I went to SFA from 80-85, and worked with Tom Baker up on broadcast hill at KTBC. Tom also did a song, which may have been the flip side of this song, called "Bumpin' Frog"... Back in 2003, when the Columbia accident happened, I was still working in broadcast media and when the local Tampa FL media began to report on the disaster, I contacted them and gave them the correct way to say the towns name. I had to keep myself from singing it... I still catch myself doing that.

Tom died many years ago. Tom was the program director/manager at KSFA 92k back in the 70's. 92k was the rock station back then.

Wow! I cannot believe that song has survived all these years. My Dad was selling the 45 for the Kiwanis club. We had a box of them in the attic. The other side was "Bump'n Frog". I guess that was Tom Baker as well.

Some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet live in Nacogdoches. If you are ever in town you just may find me upstairs at Java Jacks sipping coffee and working on my tablet PC.
