Azarath I wouldn’t necessarily say his playing is perfection. However good of a musician he may be, perfection is unachievable. @sjnugee
9 жыл бұрын
Joe McCoy Multi tones are surprisingly easy to do and frigging impossible to make sound nice. Play a note in the lower register (I find that Ab-C are the easiest), finger it like it's in the lower register, but use an embrasure like you would for the upper register. The clarinet gets confused about what you want and tries to give you both. It sounds like you're skinning a cat, but with a lot of practice you can make it work into something vaguely melodical.

Is that a C Clarinet ? Very skillful and agile playing ! I don' t like the sound of those extreme high notes though. To my ears they're just screechy and not really vital to the performance of the piece either. I assume this was originally for Violin.
@sboyd8312

Basil Brush Yes, this piece was written by Paganini, who was a violinist. It was written originally for a violin, which is why this performance lacks techniques the original has such as double stops.

You just use the "wrong register key" like the e flat key on the right or the a key or even the g sharp key

Basil Brush Yes, this piece was written by Paganini, who was a violinist. It was written originally for a violin, which is why this performance lacks techniques the original has such as double stops.

Thanks for the response Stephanie. What do you think about the Clarinet itself being use here. ? I think it's a Clarinet in C . Not in Bb.

Basil Brush I am not very knowledgeable in the clarinet, but I would agree that you are most likely correct.

God damn did he just play with multiphonics?
Brilliant, Inspirational, but where are the f- p dynamic contrasts when a theme is repeated (like the violinists do)? With that, this would be COSMIC!
Nvm its good
Clear mouthpiece?
