I was nearby there on another temple and fest !!! My dumb luck that i didn't go there ... But i heard about that incident at night 2 am. All of your information are quite right. There were multiple firing that we heard too. One of brother came from that incident place running and he was injured too. He said that the incident about fight with locals is true. He also said that after that fight group of army marched inside the festival area and suddenly start firing all over the place.

Iam from nagarkot and i was in grade 2 when the horrific incident happened its been almost 15 years and i was quite young to remember everything and i have vivid memory of this guy (Basudev Thapa) he used to roam around our village and it was quite common for armies during their off duty to roam around village , talk to villager and most of them were known to us even i remember this basudev guy coming to my home drinking tea casually chatting to my grandparents and usually during the Bada voj ( a celebration during the dashain ) most of the villager used to be called to army barack to attend the voj so before the incident army and villager had quite good and harmonious relation ,following the incident Armies were not allowed to roam off duty , there used to be army canteen that was kind of grocery store for people nearby too but it was closed too and many high official were suspended from duty following the incident.

@@Anil_Shahi-Thakuri-1 yes i was very young we used to call this basudev guy uncle and he used to generally flirt with girls from our village and i do not know if he ever molested or assualted them cause see many young women fell in love and married these army fellows in nagarkot sooo iam not sure abt that molesting wala thing and about jatra each village have it during the full moon day of i guess kartik ,mangsir so usually all people from different villages gathered danced, worshipped and had fun...so even army used to come to enjoy...and usually these jatras were celebrated in night.And following the incident the jatra of kalidevi was stopped for few years and now it is celebrated again.

@@hercules6808 no no i dont know about that as i said was very young only thing i remember was either i heard it from my elders and this guy basudev only had used gun to kill these many people as they got involved in fight since people were drunk and all and might be he had catched womens hand or something like that is what i heard and the result occured...

We need more this type of cases and more unsolved mysteries.

From my point of view, Basudev might have lied to his friends that he found some maoists in the village and he was attacked and bruised.Three of his friends takes out guns and reach nearby temple.First, Bashudev's friends takes a position hiding nearby stream(kholso) near the temple.But , Basudev already starts to shoot blind on every villagers.The friends also takes position just like in a war and shoots at them thinking that they are the maoists but, soon they realise Basudev not taking any position because he knew that they were just villagers without weapon,Basudev Drunk too.One of basudev's friend sees the known and familiar people being shot. He makes decision to Shoot Basudev Thapa to stop innocent people getting killed.Bashudev gets shot in the chest from one of the friend from nearby stream and he forgets his gun because he was scared. Comes back again and picks up the gun. The army tries to hide the Scenerio.

I just wanted to know what can be done to get the problem solved in effective and cheap manner. if i happened to have a power to influence and educate so many people at once then why not do it? At the end it's people who has to deal with it.

@@GrimReaper-ux6nq you know what? Actually we've never tried. All these years only thing we're doing is making piles of law to fix a problem. It should've been done in proper way if it was back in 60s or 70s. Since the damage has already been done and people have tried very limited ways to solve this issues. We've never tried involving whole nation to solve polluted rivers issues around the nation. Why don't we involve every citizens in cleaning program? why don't we force government to install sewage plant around the nation. it can be done in cheap way but whole process is expensive because there will be wait time when we do it in regular ways.
