So Mandela Catalogue lore, and this is a vast oversimplification. (Spoilers ofc if anyone is interested in watching it yourself, this will give a lot away) In biblical times, the angel Gabriel is that universe's version of Satan, not Lucifer. Gabriel actually succeeds and overthrows god, so now whenever people think they're praying to god they are actually praying to the Devil. Gabriel then tries to undo god's greatest creatin, humanity, by introducing alternates. Alternates can take the shape of any human they come into contact with, so they can blend in without anyone knowing. The big danger of alternate's tho is that they are highly intelligent, and often try to get humans to uh "off themselves" by introducing them to M.A.D (Metaphysical Awareness Disorder). Basically, they feed humans information they desire to keep unknown, and they prey on humanities fear. Song 1-In the story, Mark (the character you play as in song 1) is trapped in his house by an alternate. In the Mandela catalogue, Cesar (Mark's childhood best friend) is killed by an alternate. The alternate then lies to Mark about his family being in danger, and of course being childhood friends, Mark comes over to help. The alternate follows Mark back to his house, and traps him in there for days before Mark finally shoots himself. (In this universe authorities are told not to engage alternate's under any circumstances, and we see an officer in the Catalogue break that order and suffer the consequences.) In this song, the alternate tries to kill Mark, but Mark fends it off pretty well. The alternate tries disguising as Gabriel (Satan, who refers to Mark as Joseph because that was the name of the first Shepard he ever fooled after overthrowing god) and tries to get in his head. The alternate tries to impersonate Cesar a few times, but that fails to break Mark. Only when Mark runs down to his last bullet does he stop fighting back, preferring to end it himself than let the alternate get a hold of him. That's a little different then how it played out in the Mandela catalogue. Mark was a very religious person growing up in the story (Mandela county was small, isolated, rural, and religious, making the county as a whole an easy target fir Gabriel). In the story, it is implied that the realization he was praying to Satan the whole time was so devastating for Mark that's why he shot himself in the story (again, M.A.D). Song 2-This kind of replays the whole situation of alternate Cesar (you play as the bad guy in this song) trying to coax Mark into coming over into the trap. However in the song, Mark calls help from Adam Murray and Jonah Marshall, rag-tag delinquents/paranormal activity investigators in nearby Bythorne Country (hence Bythorne Paranormal Society) and the 4 of them sing together. When the alternate impersonating Cesar realizes these 3 aren't falling for it's mind games, it just reverts back to it's true form and tries to brute force kill them, and the rest of the battle is these 3 fending off the alternate. Now, what happens and who wins is up to interpretation, as Cesar and Mark never met Adam and Jonah in the series. Cesar and Mark both died around the same time Adam and Jonah were born, they're like 20 years younger. Still, a lot of the fans speculate how the 4 would interact if they ever met up, and this is basically fan service. -I already talked about how Mark died -We don't know anything about Cesar the person, as we only ever see him as an alternate in the series. However, he impersonates a kind and soft spoken individual, and if Mark (who had known him his whole life) wasn't thrown off, that's probably how he was. -Jonah goes with Adam to investigate, but Jonah (who has never been as enthusiastic about hunting these alternates as Adam) get's cold feet and abandons Adam on one of their searches. The car he drove off with was later found crashed and no Jonah. While I personally think the character is dead in the series, it has never been confirmed. -Adam, after Jonah's death, starts acting weird according to everyone around him. Adam is the biggest wild card of the 4, not only because he is still alive, but because it is revealed he was kidnapped by alternates as a child but spared for an as of now unknown reason. Ever since Mark died Adam has taken up the role as the series' main character.

As someone who is Christian, Mandela has always unsettled me with that degree. Despite KNOWING that something like that hadn't happened and will never happen for that matter. Just the thought of the equivalent of the Devil taking over the throne of God is just.. disturbing to think about.

The alternate is a type of mimic like monster that copies looks and voices of people It also uses psychological warfare against it's prey for example if your mum had left your house the alternate might kill you mum and then use your mum's voice to not only get inside your home but also get close to you

Ok so the history his one day cesar talk about mark to help him cause his mom died then mark accept me set up the camera cesar wanted to have activate but is was a trick its was not cesar but an alternate what is an alternate a entity who can pick the morph of a human but have something not humanoid so basically the alternate is called n he tricked mark in is house the reason why mark hiding in the sofa that because if you look an alternate he will basically control your mind to do what he want and that actually why the reason mark got killed himself that because the alternate. Complete the infection of mark mind and basically he stuck here and basically gabriel archangel is n he just trick mark to wake up cause well is basically god in this universe so mark trust Im think basically the same call i was talking about but the character of volume 2 called jonah marshall and Adam their job is basically to kill alternate a one day a woman wanted to research is cat in home but when they see it the tv is just an old man who tricked Adam in a trap stuck forever jonah let adam in that house and find a place to hide forever

The woman basically say to them to stay 6 night to inspect the house and the ohhhhh my god behind you is basically from volume 2 its was jonah voice and the reason why jonah do that is basically to have information about is mother but when he was like a baby he got picked by a tv and his mom suicided so he trying to do that job for a person who he will never meet and and that man basically in tv is snatcher basically an alternate well that all i know about and i dont wanna spoil you the volume 3 and 4 since the mod is not out yet
