Hoi, I speak czech and have to say, that guy with the model is surely a decent historian, but he's not confortable bringing forward information, it's tiring to listen to him. What he was basically describing is this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oH6bppigqcyWh84.html

the stone backfill inside the bridge - was it mortar-bonded or just lay there?

Educated guess, no mortar at all :-O

it was bonded with everything protein based they could find. This bridge in particular is famous for using eggwhite in the backfill. All villages/town cities around Prague had to deliver a specific amount of eggs for that bridge. There's a legend, that one townfolk from Velvary thought, what about those eggs spoiling? So they coocked them,... :-D From that incident people from Velvary are being made fun of.

@@skoniramont thats only a legend. A study from 2008 said it found egg proteins in the backfill, but all studies since that proved otherwise, they did though find milk protein and wine. So instead of eggs which would also make the cement less strong, which was of the best quality a Italian cement same as one used in the great Roman Empire. But milk and wine was used.

Tohle je kravina. Vše je Jensen výmysl. Nikdo neví co se jak stavělo. Karlův most je uměle vytvořená památka. Lepší by bylo jej zbourat a postavit nový most
