The song is called , N'KADANGOKHUDZA. It was composed in 2005. The studio version was recorded engineered , edited, mixed and mastered by Lloyd Phiri in 2006 through his studio.. It was released in 2006.
But this was a live recording recorded by Lloyd Phiri himself. He is the first Malawian musician to record a live concert in Malawi in 2006.
You may wonder that , How possible for a musician to record his own live concert. Yes Lloyd Phiri did it. What a marvel story. During this live recording, Lloyd Phiri bought cables enough to tap each channel from the mixer and inserted all the 21 channels into his sound card. This was done the morning before the concert . During sound check, Lloyd Phiri would come and connect his desk top computer and launch CuBase SX (recording software) , and test all channels' signal to see if they are responding . After that, Lloyd Phiri had to go home and prepare for the performance. Before he is called to perform live on stage , he rushes at the back where his computer was, and switch it on , opened the program and start recording , when the recording button is activated and starts rolling , Lloyd Phiri would rush back in stage and start performing . Wow!!! after a 2hours live concert , immediately Lloyd Phiri would go back to save the recorded project and go home to edit , mix and master it. Later on he took the mastered live songs to the videographer and give it to him so that he can use it.
He was operating alone because during that time, there was no one who understood what live recording is done.
Thank God these days of digital era with the coming in of digital mixers, Lloyd Phiri will not be bothered connecting all the 21 cables instead , he will simply connect a hard disk and automatically tracks show and ready to go.
