Thank you for your appreciation, I chose to play in this tempo actually for more accuracy in notes because as you said I believe there is a beauty in every note, BUT it is also true that when played like that you miss the excitement, the risk and the extreme virtuosity which in video may look ok but in live performance can be boring

I saw Evelyn Glennie perform this in concert on friday and I have to say I like your performance almost as much as hers. I would pay for your version on my iPod, and I would pay to see Evelyn Glennies version live. She tends to push the dynamics on each end, and really get into her playing.

I can't believe there aren't more views on this, you're absolutely astounding, I really really enjoyed the tempo you chose and you're extremely musical! It allows every note to sound important, Nebojsa plays it rediculously fast at the beginning! I'm learning this piece as of 2 days ago, do you have any advice for the first two pages when it comes to putting both hands together?

In terms of sound and recording quality, this version if Ilijas is one of the best I have heard on KZread! Not to mention a departure from the typical static camera placement which is so typical of marimba video recordings.... Did you use the 60D's native microphone? Now where could I possibly critique the performance? Stunning. Stellar job. But if I may....just...one..really just one....piece of advice....it almost seemed as if you were listening to a metronome. Sure i heard great tempo dynamics overall, but in the sections that really counted, especially in the beginning and end sections, it almost sounded as if you weren't quite feeling the emotion of the piece. However, this is one of my favorite solo pieces of all time [one that i only wish i had the ability to perform], so I have a somewhat bias for perfection. Still an incredible performance!

I'm very impressed with your performances. I have been searching for a marimba for over 5 years. I'm curious about your choice for a Bergerault. What ultimately led you to that over a Malletech, Marimba One or anything else out these. I'm having Doug DeMorrow build a marimba for me but I'm not sure that after two years waiting I can wait much longer. I'd appreicate your comments and would like to share other information that could assist me further. Ray
