長谷寺は、奈良県桜井市初瀬にある真言宗豊山派の総本山。

Hasedera temple is the main temple of the Buzan sect of Shingon Buddhism, located in Sakurai city, Nara, Japan. It is a historic famous temple with 3000 branch temple nationwide. It is also 8th of the 33 Kannon temples in western Japan.
長谷寺は、日本全国に三千以上の末寺を持つ名刹で、また西国三十三所第八番札所でもあります。
古都奈良の静かな山間に、悠久の歴史を刻み込んだ長谷寺の伽藍が初瀬山の山麓を覆うようにして建ち並ぶ光景には圧倒されるものがあります。
奈良市内からは電車で30分ほど。少し足を伸ばしてみてはいかがでしょうか。四季を通して季節ごとの趣を楽しめるはずです。

Please visit Hase Temple. It is a wonderful area with a famous historical temple called Muroji nearby!

知人に聞いたところ、現在、長谷寺も例外なくコロナ騒動で閑散としているらしく、参道のお土産屋や各種店舗も閉店しているようです。 長谷寺の魅力は、伽藍だけでなく周囲を取り囲む山々との一体感にありますね。自然と調和した風景は、季節を問わず癒しを与えてくれます。

Thank you for your nice comment. There are many old historic sites and sights in Japan, which are the treasures of us Japanese. 近鉄特急で行ったことあります。桜や紅葉の季節に友人とお参りしました。東京にも「長谷寺」があったので長谷寺の別院かなと思って行ったら、曹洞宗のお寺でした。米軍の空襲で焼かれるまでは、奈良の長谷寺と同じように大きな観音様がありました。今は、昭和時代に再建された観音像が鎮座されています。

コメントありがとうございます。東京の長谷寺とは西麻布のですよね？都心の一等地に大きなお寺があるのでびっくりしたことがありました。確か福井にある永平寺の別院だったかと記憶しています。奈良の本家本元の長谷寺は、一転山深い場所にありますが、年中通して見所を与えてくれる古刹です。特に牡丹が有名です。本来なら、丁度この時期、牡丹祭りが開催されているのですが、コロナ騒ぎで中止となってしまいました。撮影しようと息込んでいただけに残念でなりません。

@@channelwasabi 西麻布のです。敷地は 大きいです。永平寺と同じように禅僧が修業しています。焼かれる前は、いい感じのお寺だったんです。写真が残されています。
