Sir: Younare distorting Eritrean History. Eritrea was created the same way other African countries came into being. Yes there were some military units of TPLF which participated against the derg in Eritrea as a gesture for help, but not as major force. Shame on you to claim that the Tigreans played major role in bringing Eritrea to nationhood.

It’s true. Shabia was literally saved in Sahel during the red star operation of 1982. Many of the founders of Eritrean nationalism were of Tigrayan descent such as Woldeab Woldemariam. Tegarus fought for Eritrea from the beginning to end whether you like it or not.

Correct, but I strongly believe that TPLF know what they are doing. They have decades worth of experiance, dismantle from within so threat is averted is what they are going to do. I respect Mahari, but non the less he is still a political philosopher rather than a realist and practitioner. Separation takes time and must be handled delicately, the US don't want that so you have to outsmart them. Politics is chess, and you must know what you are doing. hence, why I believe we should follow TPLF;s lead on this. Then we can debate.

Mehari Yohannes: good to hear you. If I were you, I would make this kind of discussion in private (not in public). This explosive speech is just much worst than the use of drone. You thought the war is over but you have to underrated that it is very far from over. This is not the right time to talk about your differences in public. This could weaken TDF and definitely PP could use this loop to weaken Tigray again. This kind of speeches would make TDF hopeless, which could reverse the actual scenario. I have one easy question for you: Do you think TDF can easily win as declared separatist? There are a lot of challenges from IC.

Actually, this kind of speech makes the goal of TDF very clear, i.e., independent Tigray. Mehari did not criticize TDF. He criticized TPLF who committed grievous mistakes which led to the genocidal war against Tegaru. Derg I was defeated after paying the precious lives of more than 66,000 Tegaru and 17 years war. TPLF squandered this opportunity. TPLF forgot Tigray and built Ethiopia which does not stop from spilling Tigrayan blood until all Tegarus are eliminated from the face of the earth. All Tegaru make no mistake stand with TDF and build independent Tigray.
