Whoa. Thank you for the video. I haven't read any books that you showed today, but I read books by Kavitha Kane. I really like mythological fiction books. It shows a different perspective of our beloved character. Our granny used to tell most of the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharatha, as I read these books, it throws diverse ideas than what I heard. I love those. Thank you for the recommendation. ☺😊

I really don't like Palace of Illusions I felt the book Yageseni:The story of Draupadi by Pratibha Ray is far better than Palace of illisuion Its my favourite novel or even book Read this book.. Worth reading..

My favourite Mythological book is Mrityunjay , based on Karna. You should definitely read it. Also, I recently read Kavita Kane's The Fisher Queen Dynasty. One of the best Mythological book I read. She has written many other books. I have read The Karna's Wife as well.

Rick Riordan is the king of Mythological fiction!! (at least for me) The way he has written the Percy Jackson books based on Greek Mythology in such a humorous way is just phenomenal! Any Percy Jackson fans here? Who's your godly parent?

I haven't read a lot of indian mythological books (the only one I've read is Palace of Illusions and i loved it). I have read percy jackson and heroes of olympus series. I really like reading mythological fiction.

Soumya sissy Do u know about Ponniyin Selvan, a 5 part historical fiction written by Kalki around 1960's ? ... it's in tamil language but we have an English translated version which is also good ... completely around 2600 + pages A good novel you must read

@@SaumyasBookstation oh tqsm for responding to me 😊 ... u wont get disappointed if you start reading it ... you may feel it is similar to Game of thrones but this was written earlier before GOT (both has similar base plot *Spoiler Alert* ) Since this was written for a tamil weekly magazine around 1960's, it has lot of description and many descriptive dialogues ... But they are as beautiful as our nation's history ... Only thing you may find difficult is that the names of the main characters are of Tamil based since its historical fiction based on Raja Raja Chozhan, king of Chozha Dynasty of Tamil Kingdom around 1000 AD. HOPE YOU READ IT ❣🙏

Thanks for the video...bt if u feel like, please read books by Kavita Kane as well..her protagonists are the characters which are generally ignored or given less importance in the epics....it is the retelling of the story from their eyes... I personally loved Karna's Wife (Uruvi), Sita's Sister and Ahalaya's Awakening... all of them, specially ahalaya one has feministic approach to them....

I know it's myth 'ology' but in India everyone pronounces it the way I did in the video, so I stuck to it. A bit confused about how to pronounce it generally lol. Thanks :)

Heyy saumya..I am your big fan Don't get me wrong but.....I think you shouldn't use the term mythological to describe a book based on a character from the Mahabharat(Draupadi) and Ramayan..I think u should call it historical fiction and not mythological fiction...(for palace of illusion and ramchandra series).. because Mahabharat and Ramayan isn't fiction..it's history Btw big fan...love your videos...keep spreading booklove..all the best for future ❤️❤️

Hey. I know and understand what you mean completely. I have also mentioned about this in the video. Mythological Fiction books are classified under the Historical Fiction genre for this very reason. But every historical fiction book cannot be considered mythological fiction(eg. books based on Partition of India and World War) so that's why I made this separate video showing only those books that have are retellings of the tales from Mythology. It's called mythological 'Fiction' because authors take creative liberty while retelling these tales. Also, no denying that they are history :)

You can read Raavan directly. The stories in the three books run parallel.

Loved all the books but I don't recommend anyone to read devdutt pattanayak books since those are not researched well. Misleads readers from actual mythology
