I'm pretty sure that if Jebus were real, the Romans would not allow him to be buried in a grave. They usually did one of 2 things with criminals like him. leave them to rot & be eaten by vultures or thrown alive into Gehenna which was a trash heap that often caught fire. Because, after all, they were trash. lOL

Here's my theory: Jesus was crucified because he ran an unlicensed restaurant (fish, bread and wine) and he had 12 employees that he never paid so Judas, who had gone for years without pay, sued his boss. When the repo guys came to collect the debt, it was revealed that Jesus had wasted the money on a really sleek ad campaign and now only owned a couple of bed sheets and a pair of shoes. From there on, things got a bit out of hand...

"Judas went to hang himself, but the branch broke and his guts went everywhere." I'm not fucking kidding. And when I pointed out that the two stories are in the exact opposite chronological order, and have mutually exclusive details, she could not even comprehend what I was saying. She genuinely didn't understand how I couldn't see that the two stories weren't in direct contradiction with one another.

People do not really read the bible and their lack of knowledge is astounding. The bible does not play a large role in the belief of many. I recently read Apocryphal Gospels for fun, and I found the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, and it is now my favourite. Especially chapter 4. "After that again he went through the village, and a child ran and dashed against his shoulder. And Jesus was provoked and said unto him : Thou shalt not finish thy course. And immediately he fell down and died. But certain when they saw what was done said : Whence was this young child born, for that every word of his is an accomplished work ? And the parents of him that was dead came unto Joseph, and blamed him, saying : Thou that hast such a child canst not dwell with us in the village: or do thou teach him to bless and not to curse : for he slayeth our children." Jesus kill a child for dashing his shoulder (LMFAO), and must learn that great powers demands greats responsibilities. I read those Gospels also to try to understand what would be Jesus if he ever existed. And trust me, I have no clue. The only thing I think is that we rejected the rest day (Sabbath). For the rest, no clue. The "Robin Hood" part reminds me of Star Trek 8 : First Contact, where the inventor of FTL travel is shocked to discover what heritage he left in the future. 15:04 10 minutes left ? So bad.

And a man invented that you should be virgin until your marriage? That you must have only a wife? I don't think so, I could think that all the other religions back then were invented by men. For example the Greek gods are more similar to humans.

If I called you an idiot, I should give a reason for my charge. You can't just claim the bible is a fairy tale, because there is tons of EVIDENCE against that. Anyone who makes a statement like you have made only proves the lack of wit or intelligence. The bible is THE SOURCE of over half the world's intellect and our history is so chock full of it, just ignoring it like you speaker encourages, is to take leave of your intellect and history. No, I'm not saying all religion is correct, but as I corrected one man here, Noah Balboul, about biblical circumcision, and proved Apostle Paul's sentiments, like you he answered that the bible wasn't reliable as history. But it IS! No one in the scholarly world denies that. Except you, and you're far from a scholar. Anyway, you now know what I meant by asking how the water of your wit could actually rise above its source. The idea is completely impossible. Just think about it bit, and you should get it. If you're serious about investigation, do it on your own. Here is but a small source of information that you will not refute! Check it out: www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=V5P0Wta0Cu6O5wKhyKCQDw&q=bible+reliability+lee+strobel&oq=bible+reliability&gs_l=psy-ab.3.2.0j0i22i30k1l9.1838.5112.0.10749.18.17.0.0.0.0.166.1546.14j3.17.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..1.17.1544.0..0i131k1j0i131i20i264k1j0i20i264k1j0i22i10i30k1.0.BAzVzPUsAas

You said, " Why do you think i'm an atheists? Why do you think people are becoming atheists? BECAUSE OF RESEARCH , the information you send me i have seen already , it's all bullshit excuses you people try to find to defend you fairy tale because believing things that are comfortable is much better then accepting reality as it is , there is nothing you can consider evidence for the bible and supernatural , there are only excuses and worthless assumptions !!" The difference between me and you and your parents is that I have never been limited to be challenged by any spiritual question. I have actually invested 65 years on the 30th of last month to any an all questions thrown at me. Though I had doubts, just as you, I also doubted my doubts and researched my questions thoroughly. AND I did not merely depend upon answers given me by anyone. I wanted source references or I wouldn't even consider it. Like an adamant claim that the "bible is a fairy tale." That is a physical impossibility. I wouldn't mind discussing these things with you, but not here. The people for the most part have absolutely no love of TRUTH so as to be saved, where the truth really does set us free, and which is subject to ALL ANALYSIS.

Moreover, it's probable, based on timing, that Mary Shelley had...at the very least...heard conversations about his work when she was young, AND it's possible, due to her family's social sphere, that she may have actually met the man personally. That said, there never was an actual Dr. Frankstein, and nobody ever accomplished what Shelley's story describes. Thus, even if we brought Aldini back to life in the present day, he would only...at best...recognize shadows of himself in Shelley's work. Having established all that, your point ultimately only reinforces Aron's point that characters we _know_ to be fictitious embellishments are...with regard to evidence...more real than Jesus.

wwickeddogg, Christians claim that god never stopped performing miracles. But its fairly obvious that miracles exist in the gaps between knowledge. As those gaps close, the miracles (or those who assert them) have less and less freedom. I'm sure that must create resentment of science - the ultimate miracle party pooper.

Gage Blackwood, many miracles stopped with the camera and film. But, I suggest others started. They include the eventual capture of highly unlikely events, and exploiting the errors and limits of photography to assert supernatural events or perpetrate hoaxes. Also recording ambiguous information that fool our perceptions (e.g. optical illusions). It did however help demonstrate to us how easily we can be fooled - especially the film entertainment industry.

Don’t interrupt the god-slayer. Or he shall up-shit you harder than ken ham himself. Aron, you are my hero. You helped me find freedom, and helped me seek truth over all else. And I feel soooo very much less alone today than I have ever felt before. I am proud to be an atheist. I am a good woman, because of my own values and understanding. Not because a magical DIETY, ( and many men all collectively known as Jesus), from a mythical story CONTROLLED ME LIKE A SLAVE BY THREATENED ME WITH ETERNAL TORMENT, AGONY, and HORRORS IF I DON’T FOLLOW A SERIES OF SCREWED UP, CONFUSED, CONTRADICTORY LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF A PRIMITIVE AND UNEDUCATED LOT: RATHER, I AM A COMPASSIONATE, LOVING, HELPFUL, and HONEST PART OF THE GREATEST HUMANISTIC FACTION OF THE MOST REMARKABLE SPECIES I HAVE YET TO ENCOUNTER. (My opinion, don’t go crazy. DOGGO’s are awesome too. ). And I couldn’t be more grateful and lucky to have come across a like-minded lot of others seeking truth as I am. So thank you to you for helping start and strengthen my resolve and desire to seek a GENUINE RELATIONSHIP WITH REALITY instead of missing out on this amazing planet on the hope of A SECOND LIFE. honestly I’m not that bold. I’m just happy I’m here while I’m here. And while I’m still breathing, I’m going to try my hardest to make the lives of all those I come across just a little bit more comfortable, loving, calm, compassionate, FUNNIER, EASIER, AND (with some luck) a bit more BEARABLE when shit hits the fan. Thanks to everyone that makes me feel less alone and stronger than ever. And Even if we never meet, I’m proud to be part of the human brotherhood. Love you all. Peace and love your wall, always and all ways, AJ

I was pretty lucky, when I was little, I used to visit friends a lot, and almost all of them were christian kids. I went to church with them sometimes, and I just.. never understood any of it? Kept my head low to be respectful, but I'm glad I didn't buy into it when my friend's parents would "thank god" for their meals they worked for and cooked. Hell, back in school, when we said the pledge of allegiance (to the flag) I used to just cut out "under god" when I said it. I slowly stopped saying it when everyone else stood up, as I soon had no respect for a god. Kids did notice, and I had piles of bibles over the years, especially through highschool, of people wanting to "save" me. I tried to get them off my back by saying I'm in a different religion every time someone asked me, but that caused issues of getting ridicule from all fronts about things I wasn't even knowledgeable about. I'm glad I remained atheist through the bible belt of the USA, and I'm glad my family is completely "meh" on the topic of religion in general. It never came up in the household. There was no god to bless our treehouse, no god to build our home or keep us safe. It was us.

Thank you. I too am the product of a Mormon believing family, and have been having a difficult time since Hurricane Michael as I was forced to move in with my very religious Mormon sister and her family, who feel the constant need to belittle my personal views, but don't I dare ever try to point out the glaring flaws in their own. It's nice to be able to escape to the attic, where me and my son have been banished, and be able to get a rational view that doesn't simply dismiss reality, whenever it becomes unpleasant. BTW, my sister actually got angry at her google echo device and started yelling at it, because it started giving her the news, and she believes that she shouldn't listen or watch the news herself, because it is unnecessarily upsetting, and has made it a point of saying that she relies on her husband to do so and to keep her informed of anything she needs to know for voting or fleeing the state in front of hurricanes. This is the kind of environment I am subjected to for now, though I am going to look at an apartment today, so it is nice to have an escape into reason.

Jesus eithet did not exist or was stupid. I mean, what do wise people do? They write books, because they know words do not last long, and they want their wisdom to stay intact. Wise people with resources even go futher to prevent accidents. For example, the governmental scholars of Chosun made four copies of the same book and stored them in four isolated storages in deep mountains. And Christians think the greastest of all human teachers did not do anything to preserve his teachings? Why didn't Jesus write his own books instantly with his magic, or let one of his apostles to keep a chronicle of his life and teachings? Did he really not know that his teachings would be altered when it would be propagated mouth to mouth?
