During 70s this train was called Island express and run between Bangalore t0 Cochin and TIRUCHCHIRAPALI Slip coaches from Cochin and Tiruchy connected at Erode and run via Jolarpattai. There was steam Loco change at Jorarpettai I am train fan for last 60 years hence this information passed on to yenger generations

Recently I went Mysuru by Cauvery Exp., From Chennai. From there we booked a cab to Coorg and stayed there. Then we went upto Thalai Cauvery. On the way to Coorg, in Kushal Nagar one Budhiest Golden Temple is there. We visited this temple also.

Badly needed Inter City or Jan Shatabdi day train between Bangalore and Trichy both ways morning and afternoon. Also an over night train between Bangalore and Tanjavur is a must. There are no trains between Bangalore and Salem between 7am and 10am.
