    I'm going through MF Release right now. It is very effective, it is however not gentle. The pressure at times is quite painful until the release happens. I am very glad I am going this route as they encourage staying active and I become an active participant in my recovery.

    I'm glad to hear MFR is helping you. Generally it is a gentle therapy although there can be certain points that are painful - you should always be in charge of the pain during therapy sessions so that it remains within your 'good' pain level. If treatments are too painful they will tighten fascia in a protective reflex response instead of encouraging release.

    Should i keep doing Myofascial Release in my Rhomboids even if it hurts (I have a lot to knots) ?, I have been doing it with a tenis ball 5 minutes each side for two straight days, but today I feel really sore and I don’t know if I should take a day or more days off, thanks for your answer 🙏🏼

    It sounds like you've given yourself a flare by doing too much so have a rest until your rhomboids settle. Tennis balls have less give than inflatable myofascial balls, and using for 5 minutes is probably too much to start with. When you restart try 2 minutes maximum per area and maybe lean against the balls on a wall rather than lying on them. You need to be kind to your body when you already have restrictions!

    Does fascia regrow or attach?

  • @paincareclinic3838

    @paincareclinic3838

    8 ай бұрын

    Like all body tissues fascia constantly renews through the production of new cells. It is attached to other tissues to create a bodywide network. Sometimes, usually in response to injury or surgery, the body can create excess collagen which is a protein fibre found in all body tissues that provides strength. This creates scar tissue which can cause fascia to become dehydrated and sticky - and this can stick or attach to other body structures such as organs to create an adhesion which is an abnormal attachment. Adhesions are often the cause of chronic pain.

    I’m wondering if this could benefit my mum. She has suffered for years with stillness and muscle aches, cramps. The GP said it was likely to be fibromyalgia but this to me doesn’t explain the problem or offer any treatment, I feel she’s been told that and that’s it, no offer of finding the root cause. I have started to appreciate the role fascia plays in our body and wonder if this type of treatment could be beneficial for my mum? Thanks

    Hi Clare a lot of people are given a bit of an unclear diagnosis when they have chronic pain. I would think your mum could benefit from myofascial release as it is gentle and works with the client to help release restrictions that may be contributing to their pain.

    Could you please state the difference btw myofascial release and trigger release

  • @paincareclinic3838

    @paincareclinic3838

    Жыл бұрын

    Myofascial release releases restrictions that have formed in fascia, the main connective tissue in the body. Trigger points form in the soft tissues of the body - usually a combination of muscle and fascial tissue. Trigger point release can be practised in different ways - sports therapy, for example, where pressure is applied to a trigger point for about 10 seconds and multiple times in a treatment. However trigger points can also be treated as part of a myofascial release treatment - as fascia releases, so do the trigger points contained in it. Hope this helps.

    Nothing "gentle" about this. It is PAINFUL! 😂 I just completed my second session. It was more painful than the first however, after the pain comes reward of no more pain. The doctor is finding muscle knots and pressing FIRMLY to release the knots. Talk about pain! 😅 I was to the point of limping but I feel much, much better. This removes muscle tension and knots and leaves you recovered. I highly recommend this.

    It can be painful at times but as long as you remain within your 'good pain' range then your body will remain relaxed and allow the release to happen. Good pain is 7-8 out of 10 on your pain scale. Glad to hear you are feeling the benefits.
