And make lots of happy memories with your loved-ones, so after you’re gone, they have memories of something other than the sad things.

Debbie, I totally agree. The past is history, the future a mystery but today is a present.

Couldn't agree more. Do stuff that you enjoy and that absorbs you - excellent philosophy!

My buddy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009 and had a stem-cell transplant at Stanford and now is 14 years post procedure. He has to take medication and constantly takes blood tests to determine his kappa-free-light-chains numbers every month or so. He periodically changes his medications because the myeloma finds a way to work around it. He once took Revlimid and it worked wornderfully for about a year, and he had to switch after the kappa numbers creeped up. Systemic or multiple myseloma is a very slow death. My buddy lost four inches of height because his bones were hollowing out and the weight of his body outside the bones was caving in the bones. This was when he did not realize he had it until he had himself diagnosed.

Thanks for the comment. I was OK with Revlimid as far as I can tell but everybody is different. I wish your buddy well and thanks again for commenting.

I still don't know if I have it, awaiting the blood test results. However I love your wicked sense of humour. I have had cancer before. melanoma in my left eye.

I hope your tests came back OK. I have one every four months now but I look on it as a reassurance that they are not yet fed up with me!
