Pretty good for an adult couple. I am also a fan of Oru kayak.. I can totally see two people weighing in up to 350 Lbs total having a good time on this.

Thanks for this very cogent and detailed review! Yours is the most helpful review I've seen. We have a MYCANOE DUO on order. We hope to get it in August 2021. We've seen the MYCANOE 2.5 also and liked it better from a visual style perspective. But, your review has eased some of my disappointment in missing the boat on that earlier version. If you have an update after having used the DUO for a while I'd like to hear it. Thanks again.

Thanks a lot for the great review. It is the most helpful. I've got couple question. Would you recommend using double bladed kayak paddle on it? And about the speed? Can I run it with approx. 4~5 km per hour on flat water? Thanks again for this nice review.

Thanks for the positive comment! I wouldn't recommend using a kayak paddle. You'd be able to paddle it, for sure. But the canoe is quite wide and higher up off the water than a kayak so it would be harder to get the blades into the water and paddle efficiently. And yes, with two paddlers 4-5kmph is definitely feasible on flat water. It took us just over one hour to paddle 4km into the wind in choppy conditions. Enjoy!

Hello Joey, I've watched your video and read your post on your website. How is MYCANOE DUO holding up now, being that it might have gone through alot more folds and use. My wife and I are looking to purchase this for our trip coming up in August end, and wanted to know if it will continue maintaining its structure over the years to come, I read some bad reviews on the Facebook page of MYCANOE, was feeling discouraged to purchase this over the Oru Kayak Haven. Our use case will be mainly, Open Water (Coastal areas of the Atlantic Ocean, and Lakes, and some rivers). Please kindly let me know your thoughts and experience after having it for over year now. Hi Mahalo, Thanks for your message. After a year of use it has some decent dents on the underside where we've bashed into rocks or not been as careful launching etc as we probably should have been! But these haven't impacted the overall performance of the canoe at all. It still folds just fine and none of the dents or folds appear to have weakened the plastic at all. I've also paddled an Oru Kayak for a while (the Beach LT) and in terms of construction and durability they're very similar. The Haven is definitely less spacious than the MyCanoe Duo if you're hoping to carry gear for camping. And it's also an entirely different paddling experience as it's a kayak and the seats are low down. The benefits of this is that it's more stable and better suited for use on the sea than the Duo. The downside is that it's almost impossible not to get wet in a kayak. In the Duo, however, you'll stay almost bone dry. So, it really depends on what sort paddling you'll be doing. Mostly day trips on the sea in warm conditions? I'd probably recommend the Oru. Mostly overnighters in more sheltered conditions? Go for the Duo. That said, the Duo does perform surprisingly well in windy and choppy conditions (as you'll see in the video!). I hope that helps?! Joey

@@davidlapointe4710 currently on deal for $1200. I own a tucktec kayak (got two for $650 at the beginning of spring) and my sister and I have used them eight times over the summer. I think this folds up a bit smaller and it's nice that two people can use it

How do the straps hold out ?

Hi David, Thanks for your question. After a couple of years of use, all if the straps that are connected via a buckle hold really well. However, the two velcro straps at the front and back do pop open occasionally. This doesn't effect how water tight the boat is. But you do need to do them up asap to keep the shape of the boat.
