🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Sonnie is so precious. I love how appreciative and kind he is to locals no matter who they are. And even when trying the most disgusting thing an American can think to eat, he still gives it his 100%. That he can blank his mind and erase everything he grew up knowing about food and just appreciate the tastes and textures of different foods is awesome. He’s great
Sonny's reviews are always so respectful to the culture and people. I live in Myanmar and I haven't tried most of what's he's eating. Whether he actually likes it or not, he gives an honest opinion without disrespecting the country. Thats why he's my favorite food reviewer.

Rule of Thumb: where there is cccp, there is pain
Sonny showed incredible respect for the Buddhist culture by joining the monks, even though his time among them was short. I feel that I learned a great deal through his experience. Watching him collecting alms with them was something I found particularly beautiful. It immediately occurred to me that the act of begging is one of the ultimate acts of humility; In that moment, you are essentially saying to a complete stranger, "I have no worldly possessions or attachments- nothing whatsoever. I humbly ask for your help, expecting NOTHING, but GRATEFUL for whatever you can give. Thank you." This unbelievably difficult but simple act, when practiced daily, is an incredibly useful tool to use for the purpose of developing mindfulness & quieting the ego. The fact that all monks are expected to participate in this shows great wisdom in its design. Fantastic content as usual from Sonny & his crew- excellent segment!

@@ProfX501 do you know what you are saying? At that time Myanmar was still a democracy. They would have protested against their military’s action against the Rohingyas, but at that time they supported it. Now do you understand how dumb you sound?

@@None-do2qn Myanmar has a LONG history of recurring military coups, protests, and killing of civilians. This is not a new occurrence, and many Burmese today would have memories of this. Even during periods of civilian governments, the military constantly remains a looming presence threatening to take power at any moment. If you did your research before commenting you would know that. Burmese citizens aren’t brainwashed by propaganda-they know full well the realities of military rule but are powerless to effectively resist it.
Host of the show is so adorable and sweet. Enjoy this show and it's so uplifting everytime I am depressed by the hate consumed in this world. Lots of love to you guys. Thanks for making such lovely show.
fascinating! And your commentary is hilariously amazing! Thanks for a great video!
This might have to be my favorite episode. My family is from there and I grew up in Thailand. I fortten what some of the food I use to eat are as a child but now seeing this brings me back. Also the green leaf that you had in the beginning with the tobacco, it's the white paste that will give you the buzz. It's good that he didn't put too much on. Also no you don't swallow it. Keep doing what you're doing and I love seeing your videos.
9:46 tapioca balls are pretty common in India! We call them sabudana! We make khichdi, sabudana wada, sabudana papad, payasam, kheer, dry sabudana chivda etc out of it! 😀❤️
Thank to shows my country in positive way...By the way I noticed that Uncle Roger may very interested in Myanmar food...we put MSG in almost everything lol....some people dont understand MSG is way more healthy than salt and sugar if good quality MSG and not synthetic..
Acceptance of different cultures food habits is difficult, and hats off to this channel and sunny
I LOVE MYANMAR❣️ FROM PHILIPPINES❣️
I love the openness and willingness to learn experience and understand other cultures.
35:44 that editing though haha thought it was actually labeled
As a kenyan have learnt that food plays a huge role in history and it's the way to unite people 🌎 sonny we love❤️you
The way Sonny was serving that food like he made it, himself! 😂 When I say I'm IN LOVE with him!
Im from myanmar and i know what they say and u are so funny🤣
I love Sonny’s sense of humor and his total respect for other cultures!
If you’re wondering why Sonny always wears that red bandanna..... It’s because..... He is a High Ranking Blood gang member.
I miss this world, when you can just be friendly to tourist and not think you’re killing each other unknowingly, Your editors deserves every $ you pay them, this is awesome.
So much fun to watch, as usual! Love it.
The hunting part was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Thank you so much for your show. I am from Myanmar, but this video really comforts my homesickness in this covid pandemic and cruel military coup time.

A whole Myanmar food, nature and culture experiences in a single video. You got this! boom! ♥️
It's always more than just the food. It is the story of the people you feature... that's what makes your show the "Best Even Food Review Show". I am a fan!
This is the best video , never wanted to go to a country more than this now. The people seem so nice and inviting. Not to mention the food looks amazing you guys outdone yourselves! Love you guys from Myanmar and BEFRS ❤❤❤
@28:44 the fact you said that the fish was bad and didn't try to cover it up made me adore this show that much more that I can't explain!! Thank you for your honesty !! @35:32 this is yet one other point that you didn't try to pretend that it was you favorite thing ever tasted..it's crazy that people assume we should LOVE everything the second we try them ..some take a few tries and become a beloved treat tbh
When he said "One point nine" dogs hahah (27:04) There's always some dark jokes being put somewhere in his videos love it !!! I can't never get bored with Best Ever Food review show is truly the best.

This is what separates his show from all the others. It's beautiful
This episode was SO interesting. I love all of your videos but this one really fascinated me & the lengths you go to, to show us the lifestyle, of each country, is really incredible. Transforming into a monk is next level though!
19:20 "You might also find some of the countries best sea food" *Camera pans into a cutie*
