Kalaw is a hill town in the Shan State of Burma. It is located in Kalaw Township in Taunggyi District.
The town was popular with the British during colonial rule. Kalaw is the main setting of the novel "The Art of Hearing Heartbeats" by Jan-Philipp Sendker.

I like these tractors they are very useful for transportation ,and working great on fields. Love watching your video. Thanks
If Myanmar (Burma) wasn’t ruled by Military Government in 1962 they won’t drives that tractors in 2020

Gives a new meaning to the family truckster!
Beautiful culture and people.
I'm never going to complain about how slow my Chevy is anymore... LMAO 🤑
These are hand tractors use to plow in rice fields then converted into transport mode.
Many Asian countries have vehicles similar. I have lived and worked in Cambodia for the past 18 years. Vehicles like those shown here are manufactured locally. Some are quite sophisticated!
Wow, these are vehicles like from a "Mad Max" movie or something like this!
The power source is a “water pump” engine attached to home made carrier that transport people and products which is a common sight also in the rural areas of the Philippines 🇵🇭..!! They call it KULIGLIG.!! and very useful..!!

Wow k love this things👍
wow !!!.. beautiful video......
Good video, but these aren't antique cars. Most of these are tillers (walking tractors) which are able to attach either farming implements or wagons.

I doubt that these types of cars existed in my country in late 19th or early 20th century. from Malaysia
Modified vehicles are very helpful for transportation of a good idea.

I'm regretting for what I always not grateful in my life..after I see this video
None of these are antique cars. They are all modern day farmers vehicles, tractors and iron buffaloes modified into whatever. Common sights in rural Thailand, Burma, Cambodia. Innovation at the survival level. Brilliant!
These cars are not antique, they are very modern locally built cars running on a Chinese multi-purpose engine.

New subscriber here CN vlog 🙏
people are happy with the little that they have unlike some rich people that have all the modern things and are not happy .. goes to show that being humble and contented is all that we need in this short life .
Still number one.
I'm from Indian I love Myanmar
My country 30 years ago like that

Very good video, thanks Roland Voigt
Friends its not about who you are is what you are.Smart things cant make a better man of you.
Isnt that a power tiller farm trac?
Creative
Nice place barmma
And those things go over terrain that would ground a UK car. 3 people in front and 10 in the back too, you'd need a PSV license here. So you see, it is possible to live without all the rules and regs.

Great ! I would like to see this village in 2019. I am sure they have progressed. At 3:10 the moto-taxis are lined off.......common in many 3rd world countries.
very inspirational
The first one was a tractor with the take-off cobbled to a drive shaft and axle.
great fun video! :D
Good job
PHOTOCOPIES of TIMES ... i have seen enough videos like this , like a book the chapter one or the existence of a particular place the muddy road the market and the characters until the final chapter in relative to growth of the nations and increasing populations, seems there are semblance of similarities ... i observe just like this i have seen it ... kalesa horse driven cart with gasera in both sides ngayon nga wala na and the uncemented road and the mode of transpiration is kareta now with modern technology to cope with time they put engine on it
Like in madura 20 years ago
