Hello, congrats on your journey! Out of curiosity, since your bottom tooth didn’t move as much as wished or projected, were you still able to fit your last set of aligners with ease ? If you were able to, does that mean the aligners are not really working as effective as you wish for ?

Hey, thanks! I was still able to fit the last set but it was a bit tight. So i had to do another round of shaving as well as add buttons. The dentist explained that some teeth are stubborn and won’t 100% follow the plan :( If you haven’t seen my video on the finishing touches, you may check it out here: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/mmp_pY9pm7nMdMo.html

Hi, did you wear braces before? I read some comments on Reddit that for Zenyum, it may be harder to shift teeth for people never wore braces before? Wasn't sure about it, thought I'd ask you! Also, you mentioned you did the Interproximal reduction, how was the shaving process like? Did you feel an increased tooth sensitivity after the shaving of your teeth? I have translucent teeth, and am concerned about this. Thank you!

Hey, yes I wore braces when I was a teenager. It was many years ago so I don’t think it would be a factor in the ability to move your teeth. I’m no expert but I think that having worn braces gives the zenyum dentists a rough idea of whether you have space or if your teeth’s conditions can be fixed using zenyum. Yes i did IPR and it only took a few minutes, couldn’t feel a thing. And afterwards, I didn’t feel any sensitivity. But best to check with Zenyum if you have sensitive teeth. I’d recommend doing the free online assessment to see if you’re eligible. Then someone will reach out to you and also answer all the questions you might have!

Awesome. I'm very happy for you. I'm currently 7/13, and so far, I'm loving the progress. Few questions though, regarding the refinements. I understand that you're getting them to achieve the alignment you want. But, my questions are: 1. Are you getting refinements because your teeth don't look like the final result proposed in the plan? 2. Did your teeth fit in the last aligner? Thanks and I wish you the best of luck. 😇

Hey Edwin, you’re more than halfway through your journey! After I finished my 14 sets, I wasn’t happy with 2 teeth and this is because not all teeth are “obedient” in moving according to the plan. Yes my last tray fit but it was very tight. In fact, i think it was the last 2 trays that were very tight.

Just to clarify... So, the last aligner of your main treatment looked the way you wanted it to look but your teeth didn't match the aligner. Am I right? If so then why the need for 6 extra sets of refinements (instead of 1 or 2, to simply move those stubborn teeth a bit)? Are the refiners bringing your teeth to the original goal, or is the refinement plan making your teeth even more 'perfect' than the plan before? The reasoning behind my confusion is that, your teeth did fit, though tight, on the last 2 sets. So, your teeth didn't exactly look like the aligners. I'd assume this is because the aligners are plastic and can flex (have a bit of give). But, the difference was minimal (or else, you wouldn't have been able to wear them at all). If that's the case, why the need for 6 refiners rather than just a couple? Sorry, I know it's a bit lengthy. I'm wearing my aligners very diligently and I'm just afraid I might end up needing refinements since I won't be in Malaysia at the end of my treatment. So, I'm trying to ensure my teeth are perfect on after my last set. 😀🙏🙏

Hey Edwin, from what I understand, the teeth I wasn’t happy with are stubborn. They didn’t move according to the end goal. I’m no expert but I believe 6 trays are needed to move these stubborn teeth. Although your teeth are supposed to move a certain mm per tray, these stubborn teeth did not and require longer wearing time to move them.

Hi Rahema, it depends on the condition of your teeth. Did you submit your photos to Zenyum? Was the dentist appointed by Zenyum? Zenyum is definitely cheaper and for more serious cases, there is Zenyum Clear Plus which is around 8-9k ringgit.
