My dear Stacy. ♥ You are my hero. You are amazing. I came to see the Wool and Honey sweater. Your story is truly an epic overcome story. You are a wife, mom, knitting artist. Thank you for sharing all your makes and creations. A 66 yr old grandma from Alaska and a confident beginning knitter. You rock!

Stacy, I'm just partly through this episode but wanted to say: 1) I LOVE YOUR THROWBACK SWEATER! It looks so great on you. You have just convinced me that I need to knit one and 2.) I have been meaning to comment for awhile about the difference in you that is apparent just on your podcasts, since you started therapy. You seem so much more comfortable with who you are, where you used to apologize for it and it might sound weird but I'm so proud of you! You are fabulous. We all knew it and I suspect you are learning it now too!

I’ve only just found your podcast and have seen just a few episodes. You seem like such a sweet person and I love your podcasts. I think you are very brave talking about your struggles with your daughters birth. I just want to give you a hug when you get emotional about it. My daughter also had a rocky start (not nearly as bad as yours). And now four years later I sometimes still tear up talking about it. I’m so happy for you that your emotional health is getting better and that you found someone to help you with that.

Jackie, I'm a couple of years late seeing your Comment to Stacy here, but I just wanted to say how much I love what you've said. "Loving ourselves ... Boy, that's a hard one." I am going to remember that because there are times when I have a friend or family member who really needs to hear those words. I make my own note cards using Whole Foods paper bags cut into rectangles with picking shears. I will include your great message as a line of inspiration on some of them. (These note cards are strictly for my own personal use, and not any kind of a business undertaking.) Thanks, Jackie!

Good job, staying on track with your plan of a year with Andrea. You do very nice work. You have good taste, so I don’t understand why you would ever feel thst you had to follow a designer’s colors and textures. I am glad to know that you finally decided to follow your own instincts. Good for you. It is important to your well being to choose yarns, and colors that you are naturally drawn to. Stepping out of your comfort zone now and then is good for you, but following your heart will bring you joy.

The honeycomb jumper is really perfect on you! Flattering size and beautifully knit. Love your colour aesthetic, too. Your story about giving birth reminded me a lot of my own experience. My daughter came with a long and difficult labour and a two week stay in the neo-natal unit. I was an older first time mother, and had longed for a child, so it hurt so much to have the bonding process interrupted. Not to mention trying to learn to breast feed sitting on plastic hospital chairs with those stitches... She is 18 now, and all is well.

Hi Stacy! I am new to your channel. Discovered while looking for videos on the Weekender! I just finished my first EVER knit, the Nightshift shawl, and now beginning the Weekender. I am SUPER novice, but feeling hopeful! - - Separate from knitting, I am so touched by your candidness on your personal journey through your pregnancy, birth, and subsequent nursing troubles. All of this resonates deeply with me, even though our struggles are very different, motherhood sure knows how to challenge us. I am proud of you for your hard work in trying to improve your mental health. I feel like I have found a new friend in simply seeing just this one video. You have made a subscriber out of me, and I look forward to seeing the rest of your channel. - Yours truly, this new knitter, soon to be mother of four, and fellow survivor of all things LIFE!; Kaitlin

How strange... as I’m watching, I can’t help feeling the beauty of how you were knitting for your future more loving self. How even in those dark days there was a love yet to be discovered? I’m knitting a Stonecrop right now - feeling all the mild loathing around my decisions - too big, not showcasing the Spincycle well enough, and on and on. Maybe some future me will also be able to enjoy this knit. 🤔🥰

That sweater is amazing!!! What a great story and endurance year! Congratulations! I feel your pain on sizing. Between meds, surgeries and fibroids I don’t know my size or then I’m afraid of making something too small so then I end up making too big.

First off, I just want to say how much I enjoy your podcasts ❤️ So much of what you said (minus baby) really resonated with me. I too have knit so many of Andrea’s patterns this year. The birds of a feather I knit in HHF film noir. My husband calls it ‘our’ shawl, because I wore it on our first date. So when we got married I felt it would be fitting to knit another one of her patterns for the evenings of our wedding/honeymoon. I made the yoga shawl in Manos Del Uruguay fino in the Rosewater color way. We were in St. Lucia so needless to say I didn’t wear it for the warm evenings and hot days. I am currently making the Stonecrop and am loving it! The yarn I am using is the Magpie domestic fingering in Velvet Underground and Spincycle Moth to Flame. Anyway, I think you are amazing and admire your courage and perseverance! I hope to see you at Rhinebeck. I am lucky because it only takes us 45 minutes to get there. Keep your chin up and love yourself because no matter what size you are, the inside is what counts. I too had major body issues, but my husband loves me no matter what size I am. Look to the positive, even though I know it is easier said than done. Your attitude and kindness shines through and you will always have that! You are now my favorite KZreadr🥰

I love everything you make! The sweater that you hate is actually very beautiful and it looks great on you! I gained tons of weight during pregnancy and could not lose it for a couple of years. I lost the weight over the time without even trying. Enjoy your baby and don’t worry about anything else. Life is given only once😉 Enjoy the knitting, you are very talented!

So glad to have found you! Wisconsin girl here, just finished the Weekender and am hooked on Andrea Mowry patterns. Found myself tearing up at your descriptions of your birthing experience, and subsequent breastfeeding journey. It is HARD, mama! After watching this, want to start the Comfort Fade Cardi! Loved how you went from light to dark on the So Faded - one to start one of these soon, too!

I am on my 1st Andrea as I write this! I am here knitting away on my Weekender and am now kinda nervous after your experiences with it! I already frogged it once since I thought it was huge and the tubular cast on was my first time. Now I’m almost done with the body and my fingers are crossed!!! Hopefully I’ll be happy with it! Thanks so much for inspiring me! Wow, 1 year with Andrea! Amazing!
