Fun Fact, this episode was the first time we saw Cad Bane in over 10 years. The last time we saw him was during the Clone Wars arc where Obi Wan went undercover. That episode aired in February 2012 and this Bad Batch episode aired June 2022. Also, Cad Bane has a metal plate over his head. This is a reference to events that happened in a story that was supposed to air in part of season 8 of Clone Wars before it was canceled during the disney buyout. It was a Boba Fett and Cad Bane story and you can find it a few minutes of it on youtube in its pre viz. animation

At the time this came out I remember the feeling that seeing Cad Bane gave me a great hope for how the Star Wars franchise was going to be handled in the future. While some specific things are hit and miss I do love the overall direction of trying to bring the EU back into the on going franchise.

Omega is basically Boba Fett's sister since she is unaltered like he is.

Well except she presumably(?) is altered as she's female (despite what tech says here). Holden started to point this out in the reaction... If she was a direct clone of Jango she'd have to be male. You can't have a female clone of a male. A clone is a direct copy, identical in every way to the source. By her very nature, Omega can't be a direct copy of Jango as he was male and she's female. So the Kaminoans must have altered Omega's DNA to make her female. I suspect the writers haven't really thought this through properly. For the Mainoan's purposes in making another clone army, Omega's sex may make little or no difference.

@@redcardinalist I actually think Omega may be an intentional genetic clone of Arla Fett, Jango's long-lost Sister. This way, Boba and Omega are spiritual reincarnations of Jango and Arla. And, I believe Omega's reproductive system may play a BIG ROLE in her unique creation. The Kaminoans spent a fair amount of time secretly creating her, to bring about the ultimate clone soldier. For my money, We're talking Captain America/Winter Soldier kind of science.

@@redcardinalist Not really, Tech said she was an exact genetic clone, easy enough. Basic male chromosome would be X and Y. To make a female version you just duplicate the X chromosome and switch off the Y chromosome. Omega would be XXY with the Y non expressing. People can be born naturally with this combination and many others. And I imagine it'd be trivial for the Kaminoans. This would give Omega all of Fett's DNA, unaltered, with nothing outside added.

Dang Disney+, that Cad Bane moment was such a cool surprise when I watching it the first time! Glad y'all like this so much, I never know which way you guys are gonna go when it comes to animated stuff.

The cats out of the bag now. Omega is Bobas sister. She is actually OLDER than the Bad Batch and the other clones. She and Boba were allowed to grown naturally, while the clones are given a growth hormone to grow faster.

Don't know if you got it yet, but Bracca, the junk planet and clone wars ship scrapyard, is the same planet from the beginning of the video game Jedi Fallen Order.

Speaking about videogames: Hunter's POV's HUD is straight from the Star Wars Republic Commando videogame. Also, the junkyard planet where all the destroyers are getting dismantled is Bracca, from Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, the "cool-looking guys" are literally guys wearing the same poncho-uniform as Cal does.

Omega is a pure clone. Biology lesson here, all eggs are female they just need an extra chromosome to become male. So Omega is basically Boba’s sister. Fun fact in the old legends stories, Jango had a sister who looks a lot like Omega

The first-person HUD at 8:55 is actually taken directly from the game Star Wars: Republic Commando. Super great story game from like 2005 that ended on a cliffhanger and never got a sequel. You'll probably notice some more republic commandos later in the series. Cool looking clones with blue visors. One of them actually have the same coloring and markings as a character in the game which means he may be the character from the game.

You catch that metal plate on Bane's head? Omega's brother put it there in a deleted TCW Season 6 Arc. Boba got the famous dent in his helmet in return. It was officially the day that Cad Bane began his decline from The Best.

There's some speculation as to how Omega can be a pure genetic replication of Jango while being a female. Assuming it's the same genetic rules as our world, the theory I like most is that she has Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. Essentially, that genotypically she is a male but she is resistant to male hormones, meaning she develops as a female. Female development is the default course and it's specifically the male hormones that change a fetus from that development. There are a number of people and animals who are like this and they tend to lead normal lives. But they are usually infertile because it's the second X chromosome that causes one to develop female reproductive organs. Another option is that she has a single X chromosome instead of XY or XX. But I don't think this is likely as those individuals tend to have other developmental problems associated with that, which don't seem to fit her Or we could assume that the Kaminoans understand enough about genes that they can isolate the genetic material from Jango Fett's genotype separate from the XY chromosomes I do think whatever they did with Omega was intentional; they probably would have disposed of her before she developed too far along if it wasn't planned. If I had to bet, they created Omega as a back up specifically for the Jango Fett genotype. They could have used Boba of course, but Jango wanted Boba as his own child. So they created Omega to serve the purpose. They wouldn't want people to know her importance, so they'd need an excuse to keep her on Kamino and out of harm's way. "Why aren't you sending that clone to the front lines?" Need to avoid that question. Making her a female so that people don't assume she's a clone of Jango is probably the easiest way to keep her under the radar. She's literally just a carrier until they need her That's my speculation anyway

Yeah, not that you need to but you should check out the Jedi series. This episode takes place on the planet the game opens on. Also the villain for the season Vice Admiral Rampart is also in the sequel game, Survivor. Both stories are Canon are pretty well done. I'd say watch a stream but I know you're a gamer. Give it a go.
