why didnt she say anything about this to her husband. all this could have been avoided if she bothered keeping her husband in the loop.

Any good wife would have told her husband about meeting her brother. She wasn’t cheating she should have tried harder to get her husband to understand. Secrets are never good to keep hidden.

it's strange to find out that your wife has a brother you don't know due to some problems within the family, luckily it was resolved.

Before she try to lie to justify her evil demonic narcissistic actions and make you out to be the bad guy by lying. Record if you can help it to protect yourself from these demonic Jezebels harpies succubus 304s carousel riders.

St 1: BS, when you’re married you’re a team. You work together and do not keep these kind of secrets. That is exactly how Emily F up the relationship. Did she bother to write a letter to explain if she couldn’t do it in person. I’m not impressed. He’s an idiot for apologizing because she kept secrets and snuck behind his back.

While it's nice for these cheating wife stories to present one with a happy ending now and then, the husband did nothing wrong and should not have apologized. She still deceived him and once pressed for the truth, behaved like an unfaithful spouse caught in infidelity instead of loving sibling. She should have told her husband and, because of her family's tension, implored him to keep the secret from his in-laws.

I still don’t think I would ever fully trust Emily, there was no reason for her to lie over and over. She is not a good person and she will deceive you in the future because she knows you will let her off the hook. She leaves you for weeks and never reaches out to try and explain? I just don’t understand why you think she is a good person? The old saying that when someone shows you how they are believe them is what you should believe. She kept many lies and you think she is trustworthy? I don’t think that this relationship has a real chance.

I can understand it very well, when considering the culture OP and wifey are from. It's all about appearance.....or 'face' as it's called. If one 'loses face', suicided is acceptable, and in some cases, the only form of apology that is an acceptable apology and to atone for the bad Karma. Kinda more complicated than that, but is short version. She is a 'good person' because that is what her culture teaches her she should do. Just because you don't understand, doesn't make her a 'bad' person......but does show a lacking of knowledge about other cultures, ergo, a 'you problem'. Pretty sure OP had a light-bulb-above-head moment when her black-sheep and dis-owned brother explained everything. Took some balls in his culture to go speak to BiL, much less admit the truth. Made perfect sense to OP, your not getting it notwithstanding. More than likely upped his affection and respect for her........if he gets past the dis-owned brother part. I mean, I knew he'd understand before I even listened to the end.......

When stories from other cultures are "copied", they lose context and understanding. Marital Laws are completely different but written as if this was occuring in Western Countries. Once she got married, under Western laws, both the wife and the husband's assets become Joint Marital assets, unless a type of "Contracting Out" agreement is signed (Pre-nup) So it was marital money she was using to pay her brother's bills, not "hers". Same for the part-time job. Her income from that (plus her husband's income), is marital income and jointly owned. Why didn't dumbo ask his wife's parents if there was a brother? Phoning them to ask about her whereabouts but not asking re the mentioned brother, was just stupid! Plus, why hadn't she told her husband, the one she "loves" so much, about her family situation?

Another stupid fake story. No way anyone would keep such a secret from a spouse. Even when faced with a divorce, she was still keeping a such a secret. Nope, get out of here.

Yeah...this still rings of bullshit. What wife wouldn't tell her husband of the black sheep of the family, if not to warn him of never asking about any other family in front of her family. You have to have a partner, and if she's lying and hiding this dude, what else is she lying and hiding. Now I'd have to ask my in-laws if he's real, I can't trust either of them.

@Rune-Thorne I guess the fact that he apologized to his family and was let back in means nothing? AND just why would he ask about other family? She kept the fact that she reconnected with him to keep her parents from finding and banishing them as well

Story is probably fake........but makes perfect sense in the contest of their culture. Not a 'Western' one, so different 'values' to consider.
