Indeed. There aren't any do-overs. Life is a one way trip. Actions/decisions have consequences.....

Infidelity is not a mistake. Drinking is only an excuse for doing something that cheaters use as an reason for their cheating. If the wife is allowed to get away with what she did will only embolden her to do the same thing again. When trust is broken it cannot be repaired. When the wife went to another man's room alone after drinking excessively, so she knew what would happen. The best thing is to end it now. Think about your self respect.

He must lawyer up and dump her. There is no coming back from it. Her betrayal is not mistake but choice. He's heartbroken and will be more but he'll never forget never be able to trust her and will always have the image of the other man inside her. For his healing he must leave her and move on. She made her bed and now must lie in it

Well OP having gone through the experience with your Mom and cheating Father this must be exceptionally painful for you. At least you know the full extent of your wife's involvement and that her AP had been pursuing her for some time prior to the work trip. So she had opportunity to stop his advances and certainly refuse his invitation for drinks. The second factor is her dash home in an upset state before 'confessing' what happened. You now know she didn't tell you exactly what happened to avoid admitting her complete involvement. "I'm sorry I don't know what came over me. The alcohol dulled my senses." She knew before she had any alcohol what the likely outcome would be. Cheating is a CHOICE NOT A MISTAKE! I am sorry this happened OP. Only you can decide what's best for you. I'd encourage you to take time process what you know and not make any decisions hastily. Consult a lawyer and explore your options. Trust once destroyed is difficult to regain. The first thing is that your wife needs to be 100% honest with you before you can consider trying to fix things and so far she hasn't been. I wish you well.
