My weight loss journey (Week 426)

This video is about me completing my 426th week of my weight loss journey. We'll see if I've managed to lose any more weight when I complete another weekly weigh in and I'll compare my home weigh in result with my Slimming World weigh in.
We also find out how I'm getting on with achieving my third weight loss target and reducing my Body Mass Index (BMI).

    Thanks Robin, yeah that's right my flooring has now been laid on the ground floor now and I've now also had the flooring laid for the rest of the house too. This is a big milestone in my on-going house renovations saga. haha. Well done on achieving a 4k step count yesterday. Keep fitting in the walking where possible, ideally making small increases and you should start to feel better and see better results. My mum enjoyed her pizza takeaway for her Mother's Day treat thanks. I also really enjoyed helping her eat the pizza too. haha. Thank you for your continued support, that does mean a lot to me.     I'm also maintaining for a couple of weeks. But I exactly know why and that's beautiful! You just have to measure the most important numbers! See you next week! ;)

    No gains this year that’s the main thing Stu and hopefully the weather should be getting better now for evening walks getting those all important extra steps in

    Maintain is good too. I would have loved to have maintained when I weighed less than now. Working to get back to where I was.

    Hi Stu, One thing to think about is if you had pizza the day before you shot this video you might have had a big spike in sodium so it's possible that the reason you maintained was because of water retention. The sodiums will get you! At your current size if you're eating around 2,500 you should still be losing. I had a very big loss this week even though it wasn't great in terms of my personal stats. I lost almost 6 pounds and I'm now down to 250.8 after starting the year at 288.8. I'm hoping to get below 250 by next week, though it doesn't always work like that because of fluctuations. When you lose this fast it can be almost addictive and you need to focus on accepting that it's not a maintainable pace and it's the long term that matters. Getting below 250 would also take me to below a 35 BMI, which means I would be in class 1 obese. Not great for a lot of people but since I started at 596 it's exciting for me! Now that the weather will start to turn are you going to make it a priority to get your activity levels up? If you keep your calories consistent but bump up the activity you could really kickstart your weight loss. Even if you still have some maintain weeks if you can nudge the loss weeks up to 1.5 to 2 pounds then you could still hit your 50 mark for the year. There's plenty of time left. As I've said before I would love to watch you break below your previous low this year and really start making progress towards getting where you want to end up.

    Hi Friendlyghost75; the maintain result was obtained on Saturday morning. The pizza was consumed on later on that day (Saturday night) and Sunday night, so it wouldn't have affected this weeks maintain result. 6 pounds is a very good result, even if your personal stats weren't great. It's a win in my book. I hope you achieve your target of getting below 250 pounds by next week. I'm sure you will achieve, because your so close to it now anyway. I'm excited for you as well for when you get down to 35 BMI, that would be a big achievement. Yeah it's always helpful when the weather is stable, it helps improve my activity levels because I do usually manage to fit in more walking. I've also been contemplating rejoining the gym again. That's right the dreaded three letter word, GYM. haha. So I could fit that in on the way home from work. I want to see consistent weekly weight losses of between 1 and 3 pounds now and realise something must change if I want to hit the 50 pound weight loss target by the end of this year.     @@StuUnwin You should join the gym, Stu. This is important! It's not just about some arbitrary milestone like 50 pounds by the end of the year or even about the number on the scale, it's about your health. If I'm not wrong you're approaching middle age and you want to keep yourself healthy for as long as possible as you get older. Being healthy isn't just about dropping weight (though that can be important) but about maintaining your mobility and ability to do things. That gets harder over time. Alternatively if you're redoing your house you could consider getting an exercise bike or treadmill or something and that way you wouldn't be so reliant on weather to determine if you could exercise or not. My treadmill has been a huge benefit to my health and weight loss. The most important thing is to pick something you can stick with and be consistent with! The best exercise is the one you do every day.

You're right though I am approaching middle age and will will only become more difficult to get around if I don't lose my excess weight and improve my activity.
