Started taking 1000mg 3x a day for the last couple weeks. Usually get the flush whenever taken on an empty stomach but oddly really enjoy the flush. The warm and tingling feeling along with a very relaxed state I find satisfying. The biggest benefit I found is the elimination of a mild brain fog I’ve seemed to have for at least several years also a good increase in energy throughout the day. Hopefully the benefits continue over the weeks and months. By far currently my favourite vitamin/supplement.

I've been taking 500 mg of Niacin once a day for 25 years - my doctor recommended it when my cholesterol was over 200. Since taking Niacin my cholesterol has been 175 to 185. I do a low carb diet, so I'm sure that helps too.

It may be a good idea to supplement both glycine and TMG in equal dosages alongside high dose niacin supplementation. Niacin can eventually deplete methyl groups in the liver which 'may' lead to liver issues and feeling more tired and rundown. TMG will replete those methyl groups. I've also heard people like Chris Masterjohn talk about timing the dose of niacin to be taken with meals due to the FFA lowering qualities since you don't want to be eating large carb heavy meals when the FFA rebound takes place. Eating during the FFA rebound may increase blood glucose levels much higher than normal which is where certain high dose niacin users eventually developed diabetes.

I started taking just 100 mg. a day. And I noticed a big difference in my digestion (MUCH BETTER) and I feel better. My mood is enhanced, I sleep better... Man, I wish I knew about this a long 30 years ago. I was just googling " Does vitamin B help with digestion" yesterday and nothing came up. And today I randomly saw this video on KZread. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!😃

I have taken high dose Niacin, 500 mgs on and off for maybe 17 years, but I generally take it with Magnesium and sometimes NAC w/selenium/molybdenum or some sort of fermented postbiotic/probiotic food formula. I actually enjoy the flush, but I notice it seems to positively impact hair growth/appearance.

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia when I was 33, and wanted desperately to come off the antipsychotics. I read some books by Dr Abram Hoffer and started taking 2g of niacin daily. I eventually came off meds but have them on hand in case I feel a psychosis coming on. Though the niacin doesn't prevent or get rid of a psychosis like the meds, it does have a stabilifying effect that would have made my last psychosis much worse if I hadn't been taking my niacin.

I am here because I got wrongly sent a parcel full of Niacinamide (B3) supplements instead of Pantothenic acid (B5). 2 months ago I was megadosing on B5 as it helped me tremendously with controlling my moderately severe acne. However, this time when I ordered my new batch, I did not read the label properly and continued megadosing on Niacinamide (the packaging was the exact same colour and even the pills looked the same). A week later I started to feel my body was floating, like I was so dizzy all the time. The same night I started to experience symptoms, my blood sugar dropped so low that I couldn't even get up. I was sent to the A&E and was immediately hospitalised. Doctors warned of possible organ failure as my blood count was way too low. They suspect it was caused by a toxic medication and when I got home after being discharged, I saw to my horror what I had been unknowingly taking. So please do your proper research before self supplementing! B3 is poisonous in high levels and I do not recommend taking more than 500mg a day to be safe.

I have been using 5 g of niacin nightly for cholesterol. My cholesterol is just about perfect. I reduced the overall cholesterol level by 100 points. I cut my triglycerides in half. Elevated my HDL and lowered my LDL. The one effect that has been negative is the bile production caused. I had my gallbladder removed and there are mornings when I wake up and vomit bile in copious amounts. Not the way to start your day! I'm doing some research now to see if it would be better for me to take the niacin during the day with meals versus taking 5 g at once. I don't really have a problem with the flushing because I have trained myself by taking it at night before bed. And over a long period of time several months I increased the dose. I would go for blood work every 3 months and would increase by about a gram each time. The magic number for me is 5 g. I tried backing off to 4 g and my cholesterol numbers were not to my satisfaction. I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

I’ve megadosed NIACIN for years conjunction with sauna use .. I was a gym owner and at the time subscribed to Dirk Pearson and Sandy Shaw’s Life Extension book/course. There was very little information about supplements and the body at the time. It seemed logical to me to use sauna while experiencing the flushing effect from B3. I will now start Using activated charcoal after my B3/sauna sessions..

I was fatigued during a year. After starting with B3 I got my energy back. I have been taking Niacin with flush 1000mg 3 times a day for 4 years now. My uric acid slowly increase and was elevated. Now I take life extension uric acid control, tart sherry and apple cider vinagre and my uric acid level has a massive dropp and is now in the middle of the good range. I also take B50 metyl and TMG. The uric acid increase is the only side affect I have notice. But now it is no problem.

I started took niacin because I saw it as one of the ingredients in many energy drinks. But when I got the "flush," I thought it was an allergic reaction (I thought it was a mix of niacin and something like black pepper or chili pepper). So I laid off it for years. I came back to niacin after a bit more research and understanding that the flushing effect was "normal". I've been at 300mg every other day for a few weeks and now at every day. Flushing was pretty strong initially, but now it's completely gone. Also, I was taking "Dual Action Pepcid Complete" with some regularity (3 to 5 times a week), only when acid reflux had occurred. I've noticed I don't need as much when I'm on niacin.
