6:18 - his opinion I feel like the problem is consent. You giving consent doesn't change that they did not and people started using it anyways. If people used your content (your videos, your courses, your art) without AI and sold it, I don't think you would like it. 'Nothing is fair' isn't relevant in a copywrite issue.

@@Skeshbook Way to miss the point and only focus on yourself. The main issue is still consent, even if you think you aren't being hypocritical in a scenario where everything you've build is stolen from you. By the way, people are already suing and it won't take long for artists who didn't give their consent to have their protection. I hope you still have this opinion when it becomes illegal. ✌️✌️✌️

@@cupofoats you clearly have misunderstood my opinion. 1. I DONT agree with artists work being used without their consent to train this system (unless, somehow this tech reads techniques(process) rather than photobashing images(product) ). 6.18 - NOTE the word I use here is 'PROCESS'! not 'PRODUCT'. Process is how you make Art (can't and shouldn't be copyrighted), product is THE art itself. Nuance matters. 2. I'm GLAD people are suing. Heck, i would too if it was my work being monetized. Isnt that what I meant when I said "you gotta fight" for this? This is how you fight. Don't assume things just because I don't have a childish black and white opinion on this topic. 3. This system won't become illegal. Not likely. But it will turn ethical becuae of the demand/money involved in it. I see a future where this technology is sold/available for every artist where they THEMSELVES, with their own sound body and mind will upload their work to train the AI so that they can create work FASTER. Or there will be an "Ethically trained" AI model that would be available for the public. THIS AND ONLY THIS is what I support and want.

I respect your thoughts on the AI debate. However, I believe it comes from a place of naivete. I'm surprised your artwork hasn't been exploited yet. I do think your art is unique. It is certainly a signature style, easily recognizable. As I understand, AI is not a tool. Digital is a tool. You need to understand many concepts before executing a beautiful work. AI tools are using, yes cutting and pasting stolen work to recreate similar styles of art. What's worse, some tools charge for their use or charge for the product or both without compensating the artist for the original concept. This would never happen in the music or movie industry, and when it does, there are well-established cases that rectify any wrongdoings. I don't think it's going away. I hate that lawsuits will hafta happen to make companies honest and ethical. It's sad because I think the whole plan was to take advantage of artists and ask for forgiveness later. Once these "tools" make so much money, paying off artists will be a breeze. I do, however, think it's comical that you think you can outsmart AI. AI would've pumped out 1000s of pieces of your work by the time you purchased your ticket for the Bahamas. And if Loish can be preyed upon....you are great my man, but you're no Loish or Kim Jung Gi. At this point, you are lower tier and completely replaceable. AI doesn't need 22 years to adapt.

Exactly the point I've made in the video if you had the chance to listen to it. P.s just saw the later parts of your comment. My whole strategy depends on AI copying me. That's my play. Not something other artists might have thought of. And yes, I'm no loish or Kim jung ji. Yet. But i do not wish to be. My end destination much larger than posting illustrations on social media.✌️

It's not just art, if u look at all the job oppurtunities every single one of them can be done better tommorow by Ai, This not just a fridges taking over ice pickers job. True to all. My thought is, Only issue with AI is, using someone elses art or photo to create something and selling & not giving credit to the artist or royalities. The way AI use presently is stealing. Its like somebody selling the fan art without the consent, copyright. One of the lawyer said, other day is, AI is presently stealing a copyrighted image, photo, drawing without the owner consent. AI must be used to study an image or art and create a concept and from that, let the person create his own twists and turn and create another art piece, that will be awesome, than doing "create a Sam does art style art and selling it". Well, have to see, how AI is gonna use AI for a better future. And stepping in AI shoe, AI must add watermark (idk if they do already) in the art it creates, if the person need to use the art without watermark, if the art is "fan art style" must pay extra to AI, to remove watermark and the money must include the artist royality as well. AI must act like an Artist itself and respect other Artist time and effort. For me i think, then AI will get used better manner.

Low blow towards Samdoesart. Less competition for you if people lose their jobs, right? I don't think your art falls under unique even if you think it is - you have one gimmick and AI will find a way to copy that eventually. I found your inktober video icky, but this pretentious video makes me wonder if you actually researched the actual arguments against it. No wonder you're getting less popular over the years. You used to inspire people to create art and now you're like 'life isn't fair, just git gud' - which is dismissive, demotivating, blaming the artist for their art to be stolen and lastly it's ableist because disabled artists (like me) get their art stolen as well and it's pretty hard to make art already.

  • @Skeshbook

I disagree. 1. Nope, I think Sam's work is great and he's a clever guy in many sense. If it gets copied, it gers copied. Simple. 2. Thank you for stating that my art isn't unique to you or anyone else. Honestly, I don't care to my art unique. I do what I think is best. If people respond to it, good. If not, still good. I go my way. 3. I'm desperate for AI to copy my style and art word for word. It will only make my end goal as a much easier to attain. 4. I'm not a 18 year old running for a popularity contest. I do my work and if people find it, they find it. As simple as that. I do me. 5. "Abelist" - I think this one of the stupidest thing I heard. And it is. Scroll down the comment section of this video and you'll find Mr. Kevin Gokul, who is an artist who's been paralyzed from waist down for decades. He's in late 20s and he's the most inspiring person I've had the chance if speaking to. He OWNS his life and takes responsibility for his actions regardless of his ability. And he js working hard to become the artist he dreams of being. By your definition, he's an "ABELIST". Disability is a construct of the mind.

@@Skeshbook bruuuuh what! M sorry I didn't get your reply or sarcasm what ever you said. life should cease to exist? How this is even relevant to what u said ?. Ok leave that, u said u r happy if they stole ur art and copy ur style now thats what we called concent which a certain artist not giving them but still getting robbed which is not just unfair but unethical. There are different art form other than visual art like singing. If u use a song copyrighted by a certain artist in ur video can u earn money with it? No, so shouldn't it be the same for visual art. We own our work like the musicians do it's not something anyone can use without our consent to train a "TOOL" (not human as u said this is how art always made. We human do that but that's a tool ) and create picture with help of that and earn money, the person earning money have no freaking credit for his earnings it's the tool and our stolen work. With the advancement of technology a lot of person will lost their job right ? It was ur point?. So one day this ai might starts copying voices of a singers and sing any song with that voice how ever the user want them to. Then that particular singer will lose job coz people can get his or her voice without paying that person. That will be a great society where advancement will snatch middle-class people's job😁. When I see Kim Jung Gi's work I can say that it's his work like when I listen Arijit Singh I can easily tell that it's his voice. The distinguished Style and the distinguished voice. Stealing that distinguished Style from a artist is same as stealing a singer's voice. Which should not be happen. We need technological advancements for people's good not for corporate good. Ai is not needed in art in anyway we are and were enough for art from the very beginning of art, from ancient civilizations. If I lose my job I am not going to accept that the world is unfair I will protest against it and its not all fine coz u r fine.

Personally I used Ai in the past for some lifeless line drawings of people for an music album I made, or for a factory photo a client wanted on his music album in the background (I study graphic design and I think I am an artist). I believe that ai won't replace people just like digital art didn't replace traditional artists but it is scary how companies might take advantage of it. The worst thing about this whole situation for me personally (except from present-future art rights) is about those people who don't understand or know what they get from Ai. For example if a restaurant wants a mascot for their small establishment and instead of hiring professionals they make Ai do one for them. They lack quality, originality and they miss on the advice and teachings that you can get from a professional. I don't know how to explain my thoughts perfectly right now about this but there is something greater to going straight to the source instead of using whatever is in the middle. I was talking to a new client the other day that wanted 100% two hands with a rose in the middle for a book cover. And I was like ok is so I'm guessing the story is about love or friendship. And he turned to me and started talking about something completely different. Since I was there knowing some things he didn't. Since I was the source. He had the power to learn that his idea might make people think the book is about love or friendship or human and God and not about the story of someone poor and depressed struggling to live in the modern city fighting the system. This client could have easily reject me for an Ai. Make an image of two diagonal hands and a rose, leave the sizing/papers and stuff to the printer company and call it a day. His Ai book cover would probably be missleading, would lack meaning and would eventually destroy at least the image of the story he was trying to say.

Thats a great opinion, Still hard to accept the truth this will end our art career soon or later. I am at mid tier so i think A.I is great to kickstart some places like brainstorming, creating rough ideas etc my thoughts: if we dont learn it properly atleast to a point where we know how its working and how to use it to create art, we can't create a unique piece. Thats so true. But i can't let AI just use people years of learning without any credit just like we got copyright for music. My nightmare is After learning every artist work they will definitely Charge for it without any royality. That a huge no from me. Untill regulation happens i wont use A.I in my work but i may use to learn the tool.

Man I know Kesh's opinions do sound harsh but his talk about facing the enemy head on is true. And that means fighting for your rights in a proper, committed way, coming together as a strong community and ALSO introspecting about your own art. Discovering your own art style, really thinking about what you care about as an artist, having back up plans and believing in yourself... I do feel that the law system needs to catch up with these incredibly fast systems or the capitalists will just misuse them on large scale. We artists should be practical, flexible, strong and also firm about what's unfair. Lets learn about AI more, find out what's right and what's not, and then work towards it. All of us do have something that is beyond any machine. Of course this is easier said than done, but lots of strength to all artists out there! Please don't give up because what you care for is important ❤
