Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video is about building my workbench. This is Episode 2 and the last part.
On my website, you can find free plans for this workbench. Together with this video, I think, everyone should be able to build this workbench.

The material used for my workbench is Black MDF: Black MDF, something similar to Valchromat.
I get it from here: (Netherlands) www.af.nl/voorraad/plaat/mdf-... Black MDF.
For more info about Black MDF: see my website: hookedonwood.online/Frequentl...
A few products from this review were sent to me by Banggood for testing. This does not mean that I do get all my products. I review also a lot of products I bought myself. I started these reviews because from my experience not every tool from China was worth buying. So I wanted to make in-depth reviews to show you which products you should consider and which product you better leave alone. The fact that Banggood sent me products occasionally does not change the way I make my reviews.
I still give in-depth reviews and give you my honest opinion! On this, you can count on! I have a good experience with Banggood.com and they have a lot of woodworking tools nicely organized on their site.

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzread.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

Your black MDF is in fact HDF - High Density Fiberboard (M is for Medium). That's how you'd find it in other countries (often used for flooring).

Thank you for this clarification. Just from the look of how it cuts and handles, it definitely appears more durable than the MDF I’ve found in the states. I’m considering re-creating this bench with MDF and a laminate top if I can’t source Black HDF.

@ I think it's a lot to do with design school. They basically teach you how to work precisely to detail and introduce you to things like perspective drawing, technical drawing, engineering, structural elements, colour, history Art , Phitoshop, cad, etc etc... I'm pretty sure Dennis has heard of Miles Van Der Rohe " The Devil is in the details" and " Less is more". It's basically a language‼️ And they teach this language in Engineering Architecture Interior Architecture Spatial design etc... You get the picture. When I entered the world of design at university, I thought I had entered a big secret. I felt like my whole life had been a lie!‼️ It's really deep, on so many levels. Dennis is a perfect example of Design perfection, in my humble opinion. He inspires me to no end. This is Design‼️

I really appreciate a really professional, smart and eloquent person that knows how to explain every detail of tools, how to use them and how to get the best from those and how to save money. Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with us. You do China tools ( i really like this series) for helping others to get the best value for money and maybe you can do some series ex. tools for beginners ( what is needed for making simple stuff) or something like that. I think that with your eloquence and with your smart way of telling and showing how to use them it might be something interesting for the audience. ( only my thoughts 😁) You are really a segment that was missing from KZread. You share your plans forfree but I would buy them with pleasure to support your work. Thanks again for sharing

To guarantee alignment of the dog holes on the side and top pieces, drill the holes before you cut the panel. Then when you cut the panel to make the side and top, the edges and the holes will be perfectly aligned. You are an amazing craftsman and an excellent teacher as well. Not only do you communicate well, you motivate people to mimic your craftsmanship.

Hi Dennis 🙂 It's funny, because we both have a lot of tools in common and a lot of design ideas in common. You inspire me to do some minor tweaks, and maybe, some of my tweaks will inspire you or some of your viewers. If you have a track saw, you can align the track with a couple of dogs and cut the ends of the table and the parf side. Then, when you align the ends of the pieces, you automatically align the dog holes. If you make your incra plugin top before assembling the table, you can use that for more fine adjustment options for the hole-to-edge distance.

This is a real good Tutorial to make repeatitive cuts for Routerinserts and more. The black HDF is in fact a little expesive in Germany, but the Design and rigidity is worth it. One very dangerous thing I found is to use gloves on rotating tools like Drillpress and Router. This will pull your fingers or hand into the Bits and it's not easy to fix back.

Hi Daniel, have you looked at Wentworth Cut To Size? As far as I can tell they supply Valchromat (full colour MDF). They only sell in full sheets but cut down to your preferred sizes to make it easier to send by courier.

Mooi gemaakt zeg, ook estetisch erg mooi om te zien met dat mat zwart. Erg uitgekiend produkt dat u heeft gemaakt, ik neem hem op in mijn (zeer korte) lijst met favorieten om evt zelf te bouwen.

Thanks for posting this as promised Dennis - I was looking forward to this all week! Thank you also for showing your mistakes and how you fixed it too! Did you elect to go with the T-track on top instead of a dovetail slot for other accessories that are only available in T-track form?

That is an amazing workbench, Dennis! You've really inspired me to make something similar. Has anyone seen the colored MDF anywhere in Colorado? I've tried Sears Trostel and Austin Hardwoods, no luck. Cheers!

Groetjes Dennis

Hi Dennis. Awesome work! Really interested in building something similar specially because the shop I'm setting up in my garage is the exact same size as yours! I wonder if you applied any finish to the MDF or left it as is.

Hi Dennis, your workbench looks really cool. I am starting a 5mx3m workshop build this week (look out for the videos 😁) and I will need a new workbench when I'm finished. Your design has inspired me to make something similar. I have found a company in the UK that can supply coloured MDF, they are called Wentwood Cut To Size, based near Norwich. They sell full sheets but they cut them down to your requirements. I haven't used them yet but I hopefully will in the future. Anyway keep up the great work, I only recently found your channel and really love your work and videos.

@@HookedonWood sorry I made a typo, it is Wentwood Cut To Size, they are a kitchen company. They have a website.... www.wentwoodkitchens.co.uk This site is for the kitchen division of their business but the address and contact details are the same.
